This book really did change my life. I love the way it was written, and with no real dogma attached to any of the Goddesses mentioned. Each chapter is devoted to a different Goddess, and you even learn a bit about different religions with each one. With each chapter, you realize that with each Goddess you connect with, you are actually learning how to connect with that piece of divinity within yourself, and you draw strength and power from that. It isn't feminism, it isn't Wicca; it is showing you how to find yourself, truly. The many faces of women, divine women. It almost has a Hindu aspect to it; the way they worship the divine - no matter how many gods or goddesses they worship, they are still worshipping one higher power. They describe it as many facets of the same diamond. This book is easy to read and follow, wonderfully written, and helps you discover strengths you never knew you had. Go girl!

Brockway's book has something for everyone. I am impressed with her inclusion of Catholic and Christian goddesses such as St. Brighid, Mary and St. Terese as well as Mary Magdalene. She is knowledgeable in mythology and the suggested rituals are simple, inspiring, reflective and empowering. Even more impressive is the way the author lists resources where the reader can obtain suggested items at the end of the chapters instead of in a separate section. An absolute must-read for anyone with a connection to the Goddess and a motivation to grow personally and spiritually.

I recommend this book to any woman who wants to learn about the Divine Feminine. A Goddess Is a Girl's Best Friend: A Divine Guide to Finding Love, Success, and Happiness gives a solid run down of the Goddesses. Each section provides wonderful exercises, meditations and resources, etc. to further explore the power of the Goddess you have just read about. Give this book to your daughters, sister, best friend - your mother! Heck buy multiple copies for the men in your life, because when you start feeling your Goddess power they will want to know about it too.
