3.0 out of 5 stars Vampires living in past and present March 1, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story-line of this book moved nicely. The only aspect that did not read well for me was that I would find myself totally absorbed in a past/ancient time only to be jerked into present time because of the dialog used among the characters. I enjoyed the adventures and relationships of the characters and places and events.

Many readers will enjoy this read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Juicy Jungle Tidbits for Vampires November 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
King Tetaneeka and Queen Almika traveled to Chichen Itza.

While the king was occupied with palace business, Almika wandered off by herself.

She came upon the Sacred Sacrificial Cenote and threw her gold ring in, praying for her and her unborn daughter, Melanna. Unknown by anyone else, her labor started. As she lay dying, a stranger came out of the jungle and she bade him, protect her baby. After her body and the baby were taken away, he found the ring she had tossed into the cenote, thinking he may need it in his duty to protect the baby.

Melanna grew up in Coba, which became a Mayan city of note, with far-reaching influence. When Melanna came of age, she went on a pilgrimage, the Women's Right of Passage, to Izla Cozumel. While there, she had wandered off on her own and fallen into a cenote. Tez was there to save her.

Back home, her personal servant Quaileen told her some of her family history. Her mother had come from a line of warriors. As she was thinking about what she learned, she wandered out to the garden, where she ran into Micah. He told her his gift and purpose in life was to appear where there would be a terrible conflict. He went on to tell her that she would have an important role to play.

Melanna was ecstatic when Tez showed up at the door of the palace. He had always been near her, keeping her safe, but she was unaware of it. As they got to know each other, she asked about his family. He told her that a blood thirsty cult had killed, not only his wife and family, but his enter village. A group of men arrived shortly after and had taken him in. They became his family.

On Bonfire Night, they had a feast, dancing and celebrating the end of school. Manny and Melanna went together, Zonya cozied up to Noctli.

5.0 out of 5 stars Goddess of the Moon November 7, 2012
By Tiffany
Format:Kindle Edition
In october I received this book as a gift from the author after I had sparked an interest in reading it. I was hooked from the first page and did not put it down until I finished every last page. I don't want to add any spoilers into this review, because everyone needs a chance to enjoy it for themselves.

In the past few years the same vampire story has been rehashed over and over, I'm glad this novel has changed that path. This is not a typical vampire novel and it throws us into a new world of vampire lore. At just a glance, the story takes place in a vivid and detailed vision of the Mayan Nation where of course human sacrafice is a regular occurance. Also as the readers soon find out, vampires aren't sparkling and perfect lovers, in fact they're pretty hell bent on the destruction of humanity.

This is part of a saga, and I'm excited for the next part.

I'm showing my support of the author and purchasing the kindle edition!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read!!! January 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I had meet the author at the drive-thru I worked. she had an ad of her new book, Goddess of the Moon, on the side of her vehicle. I really liked the art work so I asked her about it and she told me about her book and she sent me a copy. I must say it was not what I was expecting, I thought it would be just another vampire romance book everyone keeps trying to rewrite. This book was very different not the same-o same-o story that turns your brain into mush.

I TOTALLY RECOMMEND, AND TO SHOW SUPPORT I WILL BE PURCHASING THE KINDLE VISION.
THANKS FOR A GREAT READ!

5.0 out of 5 stars An author to watch. August 24, 2012
By devon
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a new author to watch. She does a very good job of world-building and character development in this original take on the vampire novel. Although it is set in the time of the Mayans, the reader gets the feeling that they are there experiencing everything with the characters. Throughout the book, you are pulled into the story by the descriptive passages - detailing the jungle, the city, and the daily lives of the characters - what they wear, what they eat, how they fight. There is a good deal of conflict and plot twists that leave you wondering how it will all end. Upcoming books promise to be just as exciting.
