Sooner or later, Taschen will put out a smaller and cheaper version of this book, like they did with their Kubrick book.
But this Edition is a wonder to behold: printed of heavy stock paper, very high quality printing, it is itself a piece of art.
Well worth the money.
And the photos?
Well they are the best stills and behind the scenes photos of the three films that you are likely to get.
Lot's of them I have never seen before- and there is one of Mr. Coppola and his mother dressed up the same as him, that is simply priceless!
Everything about the godfather films has allready been written, but the Essays and interviews in this book are a fine reminder why we fell in love with those films in the first place.
The signed bookplate is a transparend page right in front of the book and states that there are only 1200 of these books around (plus 200 artist proofs). If you are a serious collector- this is the book to get, since I am pretty sure, it's price will only rise over the years.
It comes in a clothboud case with wonderful halfleather-binding.
But beware: if you plan to read it in bed- you might need some kind of contraption to hold it- otherwise you might suffocate, because this is one heavy book!

This is an absolutely beautiful book, with entertaining text and gorgeous photography. It's the perfect gift for any Godfather fan. But be warned - it's very large and very heavy!

Arguably the greatest American film(s) of the last century, Coppola's trilogy is beautifully covered by Shapiro's still work during the shoot; and there's plenty of text to satisfy those who want to delve deeper. The volume itself is a heavy-duty one, and it exhibits TASCHEN's usual high-quality craftsmenship, albeit smaller and more practical than the original limited-edition versions. This colorful, exciting volume is well worth the price in this general-release edition, and will probably be out of print relatively quickly (as were the very-expensive, original art editions).

THE GODFATHER FAMILY ALBUM is a must-have for Godfather fans. Weighing in at around 6.5 lbs and measuring 10"x15" the hardcover ALBUM is crammed full of 100s of photos throughout its 424 pages, covering all three films. There are photos, large and small, from the film itself as well as from Steve Schapiro's behind-the-scenes collection. Many you've seen before, and many you likely haven't, all with captions and various quotes from the movies and cast/crew mixed in. This is not merely a picture book, however. This Album is full of incredible photos to remind you how awesome the Godfather movies were! Looking at this book made me want to watch the movies once again - many rare and unusual cast photos for fans! Don't miss this if you are a fan!

A must have book for every Godfather fan. 100% worthy to buy. It's full of beautiful and unseen images from the film.

I highly recommend this beautiful book for any serious fan or student of the three Godfather films.This is an impressive coffee table sized book,filled with beautiful and rare color, and black and white photographs.This book also has a lot of information, and insight on the actors and films.The Godfather and Godfather II, are both my all-time favorite films, and I must say that this is the ultimate as far as collectibles go,next to owning a signed copy of the original novel by the late Mario Puzo.Whenever I read this book It gives me the feeling that I'm an insider,because of all the information and behind the scene photos in this book.This book is sure to become a collectors item in the years to come,and captures the essence of classic american gangster films.

Great album. Truly live up to the title. Though costly, the quality and size of this book does make it up. The images are amazing. Most are unseen. For all Godfather's fan this is truly an album you can't resist. Get one now before it goes out of print.

'The Godfather Family Album' is a must have for any Godfather Fan. Printed on heavy stock, it is loaded with many gorgeous photographs from the movie and behind the scenes during filming of all 3 Godfather films. While some of the pictures have been published before, many have not, and not in this quality. The book also contains many stories of what when on during filming of the movies. This book is easily 5 stars for any Godfather Fan.
