I have been in the process of building my Old Country Roses collection of dinnerware and tableware over the last few months. I finally settled on a set of the gold-plated stainless steel flatware in a service for 8, with 5 serving pieces, but no chest. At approximately $120 plus shipping, it was the best value I could find. Now I think I bought too soon. If I had known that a service for 12 could be purchased, INCLUDING the storage chest, I definitely would have purchased this at the advertised sale price. I do love the flatware; it's excellent quality, heavy, and well-balanced, with thick gold plating on the rose designs. If you have or want to have an Old Country Roses dinnerware collection, and you want a full service for 12, this is the flatware set you should get.

I had just purchased a new set of dinnerware and my old flatware was looking rather old and cheap. I looked up grades of flatware on the internet and found out the highest grade of flatware had the highest amount of nickel and felt more solid than it's cheaper counterparts. I selected the Royal Albert "Old Country Roses" for three reasons. First, it had the silver and the gold that gave it a more formal look. Two, it was a service for twelve for a wonderful price. Third, the set came in a beautiful storage box, with a rose emblem on the top. All in all, a beautiful product, a beautiful price, a service for twelve and all from a very well-known company.
