Engaging children respectfully,

This review is from: Godly Play: 20 Core Presentations for Winter (Paperback)
The Godly Play program is amazing in the way it contrasts with the loud, hyperactive and high-pitched tone of so many programs for teaching children in the Christian tradition. Based on the Montessori method, Godly Play is calm, respectful and even ritualistic in that many things are done and said in the same way week after week--and children respond with attentive involvement in the story. The materials aren't designed to be used piecemeal, but rather to transform the learning setting for children. And in the process, children are transformed. I recommend all the Godly Play volumes, but wish they had a clearer indexing system so I knew where to find which story was in which book.

Wonderful Program Wonderful Book,
This review is from: Godly Play: 20 Core Presentations for Winter (Paperback)
This program is very user friendly. Although some of the lessons require that materials be purchased from Godly Play Inc., most of these lessons can be made or can use substitute materials. I love the format of the lessons and the hands-on way that it deals with faith and spirituality.
