The companion book to "God's Appointed Times" by the same author, is just as fascinating as it's predecesor. After reading it, a Gentile believer in Yeshua Ha Meshiach may wonder how he understood anything in the Bible at all before this. Understanding the Jewish background to the Old and New Testaments can make a world of difference. The reader will be delighted to have a resource that not only informs, but inspires - to the utmost. The author relates the customs to specific events in the scriptures so that we become aware of what was happening, but the main focus is the spritual significance which will really make your spirit soar. All the Hebrew prayers are transliterated and translated, which further helps to connect us with our Jewish roots, and immerse us into the culture. This is a great book!

Anyone wishing to better understand the biblical Jewish customs of lifecycles and faith would do well to read this book. It is an easy to use and interesting reference, opening the eyes of the reader to material often neglected, forgotten, or discounted. Good - and recommended - for any Christian, but especially for leaders and Sunday School teachers.

This book presents a nice, non-combative approach in trying to teach modern Christianity the relavance and wonderful symbolism found in the modern day Judaic customs. It even gives a practical guide for those who want to try these traditions themselves to have an instructional tradition for their descendants. I thought this book did a good job relating modern observance to New Testament times. I know that the next time I read the passages mentioned, I'll have a better understanding of the context surrounding the actions of Christ and the apostles. This book is very easy to read and structured for even the most elementary student of New Testament history.

I have been studying the Old Testament in Bible studies a lot the last 10 years and I keep having the same questions about the Festivals and observances that God set up that He said are to be EVERLASTING. Yet we as Christians do not do them.

I understand that Christianity is the fullfillment of Judism and at a heart and soul level have had the need to understand more about my Jewish roots thru Yeshua.

This book is making that connection for me and seeing that it is okay to observe these feasts and connect them to what they mean in the New Testament. This is a wonderful easy to understand book that will help you if like me you have this longing to connect more to how Jesus worshiped and what the early first chruch was like.

If you want to have a better understanding of the scriptures, this book is a must. Many of the scriptures are related to the customs of the Jews. Understanding the customs helps to decipher the message.

I very much enjoyed Mr. Kasdan's first book "God's Appointed Times". In my opinion, "God's Appointed Customs" was much more detailed. Mr. Kasdan managed to discuss some very controversial things in the Torah in a gentle and respectful manner.
I did not totally agree with his explanations of circumcision and the kippah but it wasn't so much that the book deserved less praise. I titled this review "Bravo!" because there were certain chapters, such as the kosher chapter that were done very well. Mr. Kasdan presented all the information with adequate Scripture and history. For anyone interested in becoming Torah Observant, I highly recommend this book.

This book was not as rewarding as we hoped. It is old news, at best. Sorry, we'll probably pass it along to newbee's as we are beyond it.

Great book from a Jewish prospective and a Messiah Jew lifestyle. Good detail in words to prayers and ceremonial customs.

This arrived in lightning speed and in great condition. This book has helped in beginning to understand how to celebrate the times of G_d as instructed in the Holy Scriptures.

I bought this book thinking that it had information about the Jewish feasts and how they relate to Christ. I must have misread one of the reviews on here because this book has nothing about that. Does have interesting information about some Jewish customs I knew nothing about and how they relate to Christ.
