Thank you for this book/cd., June 15, 2008 By Hallie Bought this for myself after our birthmom picked us. We read it for Family Home Evening and I cried through it. For Christmas I bought our birthmom the book. I love it and would give it to anyone adopting. Excellent Gift!, October 18, 2007 By Nathan Adoption is very special to me as my own son is adopted. I wrote a song for my son that his birthdad said changed his mind about the adoption so I know that there is power in music and adoption themed music especially. About the Author

Michael McLean is perhaps the most prolific and best-known performer, composer, songwriter, producer, and director in the Latter-day Saint entertainment industry. He has written music and lyrics for more than twenty albums and is the author of several books, including Hold On, the Light Will Come: And Other Lessons My Songs Have Taught Me. His beloved Christmas production, The forgotten Carols, has played to sold-out audiences for more than ten years, and his musical production The Ark, co-authored with Brian Kelly, premiered on Broadway in fall 2005. Michael and his wife, Lynne, haev three children and live in California.

I bought this book and CD set as a gift for a friend (the birth mother) and the adoptive mother. The book has some simple, yet inspiring pictures. Mostly the book is just the lyrics to the songs which are included in the back on CD, but it does have a few inspiring words from the man who wrote the music, Michael McLean. Amazing talent. This book is sure to touch the hearts of anyone who has given a child up for adoption, recieved a child of adoption, or in any way been involved in the process. The six songs are written from the point of views of the birth mother (From God's Arms to My Arms to Yours), the adoptive parents (The Gift We Could Not Give Each Other), the birth grandmother (Hardest for Me), the child (Yours), and two songs about hope and faith (Hope Hiding There, Something Perfect). The CD includes the 6 songs sung and also just the music/accompaniment for people who would like to preform them. All in all a good buy and an amazing piece of work from a wonderful man.
