5.0 out of 5 stars What this book has meant to me, December 13, 1999

This review is from: In God's Care: Daily Meditations on Spirituality in Recovery (Hazelden Meditation Series) (Paperback)
I read this book every day, and plan to read it every day for the rest of my life. The book contains an insightful quote and a spiritual message for each day of the year. Whether you have a traditional belief in God or a vague understanding of some Higer Power this book will help you focus on the things that make life worthwhile. Each day you are reminded of the things which help to foster peace, love, and understanding and also of those things which will distract us from our goals. I came here to buy this book for all the people I care about, in and out of recovery because I think that it is such a valuable way of staying in touch with the things that are really important.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Daily Meditation Book I've Found, November 16, 2005
This review is from: In God's Care: Daily Meditations on Spirituality in Recovery (Hazelden Meditation Series) (Paperback)
In recovery many of us have moved from the "24 Hour a Day Book" to "Daily Meditations" and then perhaps to "A Day at a Time". In my 21 years recovery I've probably had close to a dozen different meditation books. All have had some key points and keep one moving along spiritually.

This book I've used for at least the last six years and it stays fresh and seems to grow as I do. The quotations on each daily meditation are excellent. The further meditation is well planned and cohesive. The theme of recovery is clear but without a specific addiction. For one who truly believes "the point is we are willing to grow along spiritual lines", this might be the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect companion to the Big Book!, December 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: In God's Care: Daily Meditations on Spirituality in Recovery (Hazelden Meditation Series) (Paperback)
This book, along with the Big Book and 12x12, has helped me stay focussed on what's most important in my life . . . God, my sobriety and my family. With quotes from wise people of all times, it has helped crystalize all the wonderful things God and AA have given to me. Most importantly, it helps remind me how important it is to remain grateful for this new life I've been given. It lifts the soul almost every morning I read it. Buy it! For you and for those you care about in and outside your program.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites, May 21, 2007
This review is from: In God's Care: Daily Meditations on Spirituality in Recovery (Hazelden Meditation Series) (Paperback)
This is one of the three daily readings books that I try to read every morning. There are some days that I get too distracted and forget to read the books and usually feel a bit off until I can read them. Many of the readings are exactly what I need to hear for that day and there are other days when it doesn't really speak to me. If you want to improve your conscious contact with God, this book can be a great help.

If you are looking for a morning meditation book, this is a great book. Readings are short, labeld by day, and can bring focus to the whole day.

If you or someone you know is in recovery it is perfect, safe and inspirational. Would make a great gift to demonstrate support.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spiritual without being religious or preachy, August 9, 2010

This review is from: In God's Care: Daily Meditations on Spirituality in Recovery (Hazelden Meditation Series) (Paperback)
I love starting my day with a reading from this little book. It helps bring me into a positive state of mind and allows me my own understanding of the Great Whatever that I call "God." It's never religious, churchy or sectarian, yet it does inspire me and remind me that I am not in control of the universe -- or even my own little world. It's a very helpful part of the 11th step I try to practice every day.

It's a great way to start my 24 hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars "In God's Care", March 3, 2008
This review is from: In God's Care: Daily Meditations on Spirituality in Recovery (Hazelden Meditation Series) (Paperback)
This is a daily meditation book. I read it every morning, at the start of my day. It gets me started in the right frame of mind to handle the things that are put in front of me throughout the day. I would no more think of starting my day without it than I would skip my morning coffee.

This is a daily meditation book, it has quotes from famous people and authors. Then a meditation and prayer. I read this everyday, I find it to be very useful, great for new comers, or people who want to learn how to do Gods will and stay sober and serine.

For the last ten or so years, this book has made a positive impact on my life, ever reminding me to return to my spiritual source. It gives me hope, clarity, comfort, and guidance on so many levels. It is perhaps one of my favorite books in my library. Thank you to all who contributed to the book's creation.
