This is the third book in a series entitled God's Generals. The first book is about famous pentecostals and the second book is about famous reformers. This book is about about famous revivalists. It includes such people as John Wesley, Jonathan Edwards, and Billy Graham.

The scholarship and research is profound. In all three books you can learn from their strengths and weaknesses. Liardon gives an accurate account of church history in his works.

I often return to the first book when I need some encouragement. In my opinion, the first and second book are better than the last. They all are good though.

Ever thought about how John and Charles Wesley made it to America? Did you even know they had come? This book gives brief biographies of many spiritual leaders. You will enjoy reading both the familiar stories and the not so familiar facts and details of their lives.

Jonathan Edwards, Charles Spurgeon, and Dwight L. Moody are just a few of the more then eleven lives detailed in this book. As the author takes you on their journeys you get a better understanding of the time in which they lived and the work they accomplished. You will see God's hand in the details of their lives and be moved to serve Him better.

This book is an easy read and great for devotions. You can divide the chapters or just study one person a day or week. A great read for both men and women as you see how the Lord can work in anyone's life no matter the circumstances. I enjoyed the stories of these great servants of the Lord and am sure you will too.

Roberts Liardon makes an outstanding job writing this book. He mentions some things that perhaps other historians do not find easy to say. I have not finished reading the book yet but it seems to me that the style and order Liardon has arranged for his work is excelent.

When you want to learn about revival in the church you must want to read this excellent book. It is exceptional and is an excellent book for reference.

Inspiring stories that show God's activity through the times and, for many of us, the inheritance given to us by those early trail blazers.

I can not believe how fast i got this book, and in perfect condition. i can't wait to dive into this book.
