About the Author
INDRA SHARMA is one of the most decorated traditional religious painters in modern India. Deriving inspiration from the Puranas and Upanishads, Sharma has kept alive through his work, for more than 40 years, the sacred tradition of Indian art. Born in 1923 in the small town of Nathdwara, in Rajasthan, India, he created his first finished work at the tender age of ten. He later graduated from the Sir J.J. School of Arts in Mumbai. Remaining humble and devoted to this faith and profession, he creates icons of Hindu gods and goddesses that are altars of worship for millions.
