More About the Author

Ron flew Navy Jet-Fighter aircraft for 13 years and also flew as airline pilot for 30 years. He is a businessman in real estate, oil & gas projects, owned an luxury automobile dealership, and built executive type homes. His latest book, "Supersonic Cowboys" is an outstanding collection of heart pounding, breathtaking, true stories of Navy and Marine fighter pilots defying death, in and out of combat and aboard aircraft carriers during the Viet Nam period. This book is on e-book and CreateSpace as "Supersonic Fighter Pilots."
More importantly Ron has devoted his life to teaching Bible truth. His first book "Trophies of Heaven" is in it's ninth printing.
Ron also wrote "Tithing - Fact or Fiction" that challenges the old law (Old Testament) that many Christian organizations are using to force the old law on their members for financial gain. Tithing never was money and was never taught by Jesus or His Disciples.
"Jesus Christ - Who is He" was written by Ron to challenge Dan Brown's account of the "Da Vinci Code."
"Testimonies for the Soul" was written by Ron listing individual true testimonies of folks who were way out on dope, alcoholism, demon worshiper, prostitution, and many other vices. They tell how they were delivered from this evil life style. Many had tried several man-made methods of getting clean, but none of them worked.
Ron is the past president of the North Texas chapter of International Fellowship of Christian Businessmen. He has appeared on many Christian TV and Radio talk shows. Ron is married to Sharon and they four children and five grandchildren, plus they support many more in various places.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book on the reality of New Testament Giving, October 9, 2003

This review is from: God's Guarantees for Giving: A Biblical Look at the Law of Tithing... Was It Rescinded by Grace? (Paperback)
Ron Knott has written an excellent book dealing with the question of tithing for New Testament believers. The issue has become somewhat of a sacred cow for many in the church and Knott masterfully lays out his thesis and delves into much scripture to prove his points.

if you are committed to tithing and believe it is New testament in its application, you should read this book anyway as there are many more scriptures dealing with tithing than Malachi 3:8-10. In fact, Knott shows that the tithe was NEVER money and further that the tithe was sometimes consumed by the individual.

Knott's book does have one peeve with me: he takes Jesus' teaching above giving to the poor and misapplies it to the Born Again believer. Jesus stated in the Gospels that those who do not give to the poor would not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Knott is correct in that this is in the Bible but he fails to apply it in light of the rest of scripture. The ONLY requirement for one to go to heaven is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Period. To make giving to the poor a requisite would violate salvation by grace through faith.

Other than this theological oversight, the book is remarkably balanced and tempered in its presentation as Knott does not have an axe to grind. He does make his points however.

Good book on christians and tithing and a must-read!
