About the Author

Derek Prince (1915-2003) was born in India of British parents. Educated as a scholar of Greek and Latin at Eton College and Cambridge University, England, he held a Fellowship in Ancient and Modern Philosophy at King's College. He also studied several modern languages, including Hebrew and Aramaic, at Cambridge University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.While serving with the British army in World War II, he began to study the Bible and experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. Out of this encounter he formed two conclusions: first, that Jesus Christ is alive; second, that the Bible is a true, relevant, up-to-date book. These conclusions altered the whole course of his life, which he then devoted to studying and teaching the Bible.Derek's main gift of explaining the Bible and its teaching in a clear and simple way has helped build a foundation of faith in millions of lives. His non-denominational, non-sectarian approach has made his teaching equally relevant and helpful to people from all racial and religious backgrounds.He is the author of over 50 books, 500 audio and 160 video teaching cassettes, many of which have been translated and published in more than 60 languages. Derek Prince speaks from personal experience when he asserts that there is healing in God's word. He himself was miraculously cured of an untreatable condition by embracing the truth contained in Proverbs 4:20-22.

This thin volume goes step-by-step through that passage to explain how paying attention to the word of God and taking it in like medicine can be more effective than any drug or surgery in treating our diseases and physical disorders. A totally unexpected approach to physical healing--and one which is grossly neglected in Christendom. I recommend this book for anyone who struggles with chronic physical illness, as well as those who work in the medical field.

Derek Prince writes this little easy to read book based on Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV), "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." In this book, Derek shares his experience about his life as a "thinker" and a persons who reasons, and how as an army medical orderly in WWII he was struck with a skin disease while out in the desert and was in hospital for 1 year. Through that experience, he found God's medicine bottle for healing, and was personally healed by God.
