Transformative book exploring who god really is,
By
This review is from: God's Phone Number (Paperback)
In an age of an endless supply of mushy "spirituality" books, this reading is a must. On the high sea with hurricane force winds, faced with certain doom, Trask finds himself with no logical resource for escape. He knows too well as captain his crew and passengers, as well as himself, will soon be lost to the sea. In the height of his desperation and despair, Trask's concept of who god is forever shattered. It is here that Trask has a spiritual awakening and experiences God firsthand enabling him to save his ship and crew. With this dramatic start, Bob then examines mankind's relationship with God and how this relationship may be accessed on a daily basis. In a fresh perspective, Trask examines the teachings and wisdom of Jesus and it's application to daily life without pulling any punches.

A direct line to my heart and spirit.....,
By Mark (Victoria, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: God's Phone Number (Paperback)
Trask has an amazing way of getting inside complex issues and unwinding them for me. With crises like the war in Afghanistan, or between Israel and Palestine, or at home with 911 it has become easy to get lost in the negativity. God's Phone Number is about tapping into the internal guidance system, given to us all. It is about finding the power within to go after ones dreams. I found it easy to read, the whole time I felt like he had his hand on my shoulder and was speaking directly to me. I have read a number of Trask's works and each has helped me to understand myself better and get excited about `tomorrow'. He writes in the language of the everyday person always honest and factual, and filled with a love of life. In times like these where it is easy to get lost or feel alone, I recommend you pick up a copy of this book. Treat yourself for the next week to something that will change your life forever.....It has mine.

God's Phone Number,
By Eleanor Clark (Cleveland, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: God's Phone Number (Paperback)
Truth, as Bob Trask defines it, has no cracks in it. That's what makes this book refreshing, this spiritual master says that religious beliefs that don't make sense, are usually nonsense. He tells the story of being nearly killed in a hurricane and watching all his old beliefs blow away, a perfect storm that transformed him from a sea captain to an internationally known spiritual leader. This book is so simple and yet so profound, just truth, told with great humor and adventurous stories. After I read this book, I found that a lot of my problems just went away. I'm giving this book to everyone I know.

a fresh look at spirituality,
By A Customer
This review is from: God's Phone Number (Paperback)
Coming from a traditional Catholic background, Trask finds that conventional religion is not only corrupt, but many churches are no longer serving their purpose for the people. Trask takes a fresh and practical look at spirituality. I found the book an answer to my frustration with the church. It is the bridge from "old thought" to "new thought".

Fascinating and Uplifting Book,
By Annie B. (Bay Area) - See all my reviews
This review is from: God's Phone Number (Paperback)
I truly loved this book. Please don't listen to the 1-star feedbacks. This book is controversial - and often-times when centuries-old beliefs are challenged, people can get upset. That's ok. Not everyone wants to examine anything but what they've always known to be true. People are comfortable with what they have long believed - especially when it comes to religion. By the same token, Mr. Trask does not criticize what anyone chooses to believe. This reminds me a bit of the DaVinci Code. It raises questions. It gives new insights. It sparks discussion. It gently invites the reader to open their mind and does not rely on years of handed-down beliefs - but is based on true research. Yes, Bob adds his own unique spirituality to the mix, but this is what makes the book even more special. It's fresh, bold and a wonderful read - especially for one, such as myself, who was raised in a fundamental and traditional faith. That no longer works for me and this helped me understand a lot of things. I have loaned this book to several people, who have also enjoyed it. I found Bob Trask's type of spirituality a much needed pick-me-up. I would never slight anyone else's beliefs, but for me, this was a breath of fresh air. Highly recommened.

Wrong Number!,
By Christopher L. Hansen (Neptune City, NJ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: God's Phone Number (Paperback)
Mr. Trask has redefined God in his own image. It's great that he had a revelation in the survival of a hurricane. It's a shame that he has shipwrecked faith with his pop-cultural definition of connecting with God. There are hundreds of books by truly spiritual individuals that present ways of developing a truly deep spirituality. This is not one of them.
