I have a NASB New Testament + Psalms and Proverbs pocket Bible that I take with me everywhere. It fits in my pocket very nicely and is easy to whip out in those moments where I want to look at something bookmarked or something I remember. If only this book had taken this approach. Everything in this book is in massive font and is widely spaced between verses. As one other reviewer put it, it will fit in a purse, but for guys like me that want to put it in our pockets, we are out of luck. This thing just won't fit in my pocket. Now I know that this book never claims, neither internally or externally, to be easy to carry around. But it makes common sense: if you are going to make a book like this pocket sized in length, why not also make it smaller in width? I really haven't been able to use this book much because it really isn't a "for throughout the day," just "for every day." But I already read the promises of God every day when I read from my normal-book sized Bible.
Also, I find the NCV translation to be very annoying. Perhaps it will grow on me in the future, but in essence it's just like every other paraphrase of the Bible: it tries to capture the picture of the words said, and sometimes it goes a little too far.Read more ›
