This book is so good. It talks about building a realtionship with the Lord, and having a spitutual life instead of focusing on the natural life. This is a call to draw close and be in His love so that all the normal everyday fears that are expected to come with the end times do not affect your life for you have your eyes on Him. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT, there is hardly any other book I've read like it. It IS God's answer for the worries and fears over what is going to happen, and how He will keep His bride from what shall come upon the world.

When faced with a harsh, sudden crisis, financial situation or lost of a loved one, it is very easy to panic, fret and doubt who is really in control of your life as a Christian. This book is truly a message from God to those who find themselves in despair during life's tribulations. It also exposes the destiny of nations, the United States among others, during an impending global economic depression. If you've been watching the news, and all world events, wars, stock market, and political globalization topics, you'll realize that those events are near, even at the door. Most importantly, the book deals with how, true Christ trusting believers, should prepare and learn the faith necessary to carry them through these tough times, instead of relying on the "false sense of security" that a good present job and a good present life provide. I strongly encourage you in the Lord to get this book. Probably the best you've invested in a long time.

"God's Plan to Protect His people During the Coming Depression" by David Wilkerson is like a manual for the days ahead of us in the not-too-distant future. David gives spiritual insight and solid wisdom on how to live during the great depression that is sure to come to America, and probably the rest of the world as well. Although in the natural it could be a time of fear, in the spiritual, it could be the greatest time ever --drawing closer to Jesus, watching and believing in His promises to see us through all kinds of problems. David emphasizes putting our focus on Jesus -- trusting in Him for our every need -- whether in time of peril or peace!

With a dramatic upsurge in the fulfillment of an ever-increasing number of his predictions, David Wilkerson is looking more and more like the seer-prophet he has always DISclaimed himself to be. As the literary sequel to AMERICA'S LAST CALL, ON THE BRINK OF A FINANCIAL HOLOCAUST (hereafter, ALC) (Lindale, Texas: Wilkerson Trust Publications, 1998), GOD'S PLAN TO PROTECT HIS PEOPLE IN THE COMING DEPRESSION (hereafter, GPPPCD)(New Kensington, Pennsylvania: Whitaker House, 2000) further details the seer's vision concerning the expected judgment upon the world-at-large and the United States of America in particular. Already ten years old, this second edition from Whitaker House was published two years after the 1998 original from Wilkerson Trust Publications and has been adopted verbatim with the exception of a new cover design and a larger font. The original page count of 195 has now increased to 219 as a result of the larger font. This book describes the economic chaos of 2008 so precisely it is difficult to believe it has already been in circulation for ten years. It is, however, the seer insists " . . . not about the bad news facing our nation. Rather, it is about the good and comforting news of God's covenant promises to preserve and protect his people through every storm" (p. 6). And "storm" it is sure to be! If there was ever a doubt in the seer's heart concerning the certainty of his earlier visions as they pertained to future economic collapse, it is nowhere to be found in this writing. "Worldwide economic holocaust" is still an unavoidable certainty, and so variously described under this cover that one can scarcely absorb all of its woeful features.Read more ›

Seldom does the secular and non-secular world agree with each other. However this is precisely what has happened.

We had just spent some time with our financial advisor to see, "...what condition our condition was in..." to borrow a phrase...

At any rate our advisor advised us to be debt free by 2010 because all the societal and financial indicators are pointing to a depression (not recession) beginning no later than 2010.

So shortly after our meeting with the financial advisor, I found this book by Dave Wilkerson, a man whose ministry is nearly impeccable (nobody is perfect...), with the title, "God's Plan to Protect His People in the Coming Depression". It was too coincidental to ignore.

Currently my husband is reading the book and has found it to be disturbing but hopeful. Once I read it I may be able to add additional review information.

For anyone who is interested, the book is on line at Rev. Wilkerson's daily weblog in PDF format. The Print function on the PDF is disabled, as is also the highlight/copy/paste function. The book has many interesting facts which people of these later generations may not appreciate, such as just how promiscuous people were encouraged to be even back at the beginning of the 1900's.
