About the Author

Jean Griesser's study and practice of the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita began in India in 1971, under the direction of the preeminent devotee-scholar, Bhaktivedanta Swami. Ms. Griesser, a professional photographer, travels widely and has illustrated and written many magazine articles on the culture and philosophy of traditional India. She and her husband John, a filmmaker, have produced eight documentary films on the same topics. In 1996 Ms. Griesser wrote and illustrated a Bhagavad-gita for children, "Our Most Beloved Friend". She lives in a self-sufficient community in British Columbia, Canada.
