It's about time more books came out that relate God's language of prophecy to apocalyptic times. The God of the Bible has established his timetable by appointing His own meeting times (The "Moadim"), known as the seven Jewish feasts, which He declares as "My feasts." Just as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob loves every nation, which is why He selected Israel to bring forth the Redeemer of all nations, so He commanded Israel to observe the seven Jewish feasts as the reflection of His timetable in the history of humanity's redemption. This book focuses on the parallelism between the language of the book of Revelation and the ancient and prophetic meanings of the Spring feast of Shavuot (Feast of Weeks or Pentecost). Just as the Spring feast of Passover holds deep meanings to all people of the earth, so does Shavuot. ''God's timetable'' unlocks the unseen Jewish background to the Apocalypse based on the seven weeks leading up to Shavuot, known as the period of Sefirat HaOmer "counting the Omer"). Shavuot is the first harvest feast and points to the coming resurrection, while the rest culminates with the Fall feasts with the Judgment of Yom Kippur, and the "tabernacling" of God with his people, remnant of all nations, at Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). After reading this book in its original context as God's Apocalyptic Work par excellence, compared with Jewish apocalypses written around the same time, you will never read Revelation in the same way again. Not only will you read Revelation with the eyes of 1st century readers while positioned 20 centuries later, but you will also see how Jesus, the Revealer himself is the fulfillment of all human expectations, past, present and future.
For those interested in the seven Jewish feasts, I recommend this link [...]
