5.0 out of 5 stars Some of the best lounge music you can listen to, January 10, 2005

If you are into Lounge, De Phazz is one of the best at this genre, this album reflects all that lounge music should be: cool, stylish and elegant; perfect for a party or to listen while you are having a cocktail or a glass of red wine. Tracks such as Godsdog, the mambo craze, Cafe Coca, Jazz Music and radio sol, provide the perfect soundtrack for a great evening, I hope you will enjoy this album as much as I do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mambos, Sambas, Soundbites & Sirens..., February 13, 2004

Like fellow German, Funki Porcini, De-Phazz is a culture-vulture's pastiche dream! And you can't help but dance around the room to these upbeat snippety songs.

The titular delight loops one chord progression and one sentence into a trippy trance that sends you right back to the "Ghost in the Invisible Bikini"-Don Kirshner "silly" songs of the sixties!

It all ends with the slow croon, "Anchorless," which wouldn't be out of place on any adult-contemporary station. Those Germans have post-modernism down to a "T"!

Also check out De-Phazz's "Death By Chocolate," and Funki Porcini's "Love, Pussycats & Carwrecks"!

5.0 out of 5 stars DE-PHAZZ IS DE-SHH!, May 12, 2003
This review is from: Godsdog (Audio CD)
I am so glad that Water Music Records released "Godsdog" on their label. From my understannding they're going to be doing a lot of Mole Recording Artists like that. For whatever reason, I know not, but I'm certainly glad because of the unavailablity of a lot of acts in record stores like De-Phazz. I always heard their work on comp CDs and said eventually I would get one of their records. And so I did--"Godsdog" had me captivated from the opening number, "Mambo Craze" to the outro cut, "Anchorless." The entire CD is a mixture of different musical styles that all blend well together with strong influences of jazz, r&b, funk, mambo and a little drum and bass. The samples are witty and brilliantly placed throughout and you never get tired of listening to the set...I play "Godsdog" for all occasions and you will too!

Love this album. Can't really call it techno, can't really call it Jazz, it's a mix of my two favorite types of music in the whole world!! Every one who likes techno, or Jazz, should TOTALLY buy the album, and for further info. my fav song is Jazz Music.

I don't know how I missed this one, but I am glad I found it! Perfectly mixed and virtuosic in the way it mixes electronic themes with just about every music genre...and then that trombone! De-Phazz grows and grows in their particular niche.

5.0 out of 5 stars DE PHAZZ IS REALLY GOOD!, July 18, 2003

This review is from: Godsdog (Audio CD)

4.0 out of 5 stars "Her name is Godsdog....", September 9, 2003

"Her name is Godsdog...." Yep, that's the entirety of the lyrics for cut #9, and all you can do is play this bouncy masterpiece over and over again! Another swell, "Information," is a sort of acid-trip peaon to reason! Grab this swingin' disc!
