Short but very sweet,

I'm going to be just a little more expansive than my fellow reviewer with his two (very accurate) lines. This CD reminds me of the heyday of the 'long playing record' age: it is around forty minutes of music. That is an observation, not a negative criticism. I enjoyed it all and didn't feel cheated by the duration of it. The album has a feel to it which is difficult to describe but I'll say that it is deeply heartfelt, skilfully performed and authentic blues. It is very well produced in every sense of the word. Everyone who performs on the album evidently has a deep feeling for the blues and a lot of respect for its depth and traditions. Notably, guitarist Jon Moeller plays well throughout, displaying far more subtlety than he does with his current band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Sonny Boy Williamson (Rice Miller) is an inspiration here: two of his songs, She's My Baby and Too Young To Die are played very well without being straight copies and the title track of the CD is performed in his style (in my opinion). The very good news is that you can listen to samples right here on this site. Take a listen: if you like blues as much as I do (a fan for forty-five years), then I think you'll appreciate the love which has gone into this CD.

This is a great cd. If you have not seen or listen to Darrel Nuelisch you are missing a great bluesman.
