4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but it's still the remixes., November 8, 2008
This review is from: Goin' Off (Audio CD)
Although the track listing doesn't mention it, "Make The Music With Your Mouth, Biz", and "Nobody Beats The Biz" are still the Marley Marl remixes. They did include the original of "Nobody Beats The Biz" on the bonus disc, but if you want the original "Make The Music With Your Mouth, Biz", you'll need to buy Make The Music With Your Mouth Biz.

It's a real shame that they couldn't include all of the originals with this special edition re-release. However, the audio quality is as good as it can be (the original recordings are pretty bad), and the extras, including the liner notes, are great for any Biz Markie fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars "The Star of The Show.............He's Biz Markie!!!!!!", October 8, 2009

This is a CLASSIC Hip-Hop CD, with incredible production and hardcore, B-Boy beats. The sound is superior and the bonus CD is banging. This is Hip-Hop!!! 'Nuff said.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic!, January 10, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Goin' Off (Audio CD)
Classic Album By An Original Juice Crew Artist. Not Really A fan Of The Bonus Disc. I Would Have Bought The Re-Masterd Version Of This Classic Without The Bonus Disc. I Did Enjoy The Liner Notes. Very Interesting Facts On The Making Of The Album Plus Covers For The Original Singles. The Diabolical Biz Markie At His Best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why I record music, August 25, 2010

I'm a phenomenal artist. Let's just get that out of the way. Much like Cal Ripken made it ok to play shortstop, I record great albums with my band Asschowder. Why do I tell you this? Because I owe a lot of our awesome sound to Biz Markie. What the Biz taught us was that you really didn't have to have vocal talent to make it in the Biz (yes, I just did that). I am blessed with talent, but when I took the stage at the John Deere implement store in Gretna for the first time, backed by keyboard genius Burns, lead guitarist/drummer J-Abs and washboard/triangle guru Kroll, I wasn't sure just what we had. I then thought, "Biz doesn't care if he is liked or if he has any talent, he just turns and burns". So I went to the stage with confidence. I'm not going to lie, we were the most groundbreaking thing Gretna has heard to this day, but it was that night that led to everything we are today. I was born in a small town and I can breathe in a small town.

As a tribute to the Biz we did polka covers of both "just a friend" and "vapors" at our Gretna homecoming show last year. We had thounsand of Gretnarians doing the flying dutchman to Biz Markie classics. We did the Biz justice. Biz isn't average, small towns are sometimes average and model airplanes aren't easy to assemble. Just stay golden and you will most likely not have any accidents involving yard tools in the next few years no matter what your dad says.
