In December 1985, Ehrhart accepted a high level invitation to return to Vietnam-one of the earliest Americans to do so. From Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, from the Cambodian border to the South China Sea, Ehrhart rediscovered his own past through a new perspective, giving us a lucid and insightful look at Vietnam ten years after the U.S. left. "The ghosts and scars of conflict, both physical and emotional, are evident," said the (Quaker) Friends Journal.
