5.0 out of 5 stars Just need to set the record straight here, April 26, 2005
This review is from: Going Back to Texas (Audio CD)
John wrote many of BLOODROCKS songs from the first 4 lp's....but was never actually a member of the band....and I doubt he actually played on any of the tracks..Lee Pickens was the lead guitarist on the fist 4 BLOODROCK albums...after corresponding with John via e-mail..I asked if he ever recorded the songs he wrote for BLOODROCK (even in demo form...in the event he may want to release them at a later date?)...he informed me that he never recorded any of the songs he penned for BLOODROCK....which is a shame....Johns original band was awesome

You might want to check out his first 2 albums, if you doubt any of his abilities or contributions....I didn't personally care for his 3rd album....LIVING BETTER ELECTRONICALLY....probably cuz I was very partial to Linda Waring and Curly Benton....

5.0 out of 5 stars John Nitzinger, June 24, 2005
This review is from: Going Back to Texas (Audio CD)
I have only heard portions of this album.I grew up listening to Nitzinger and Bloodrock. The man wrote two styles of music that for Bloodrock and the one for him Boogie blues rock.

My band now does Texas Jellroll Blues and are working up some other tunes. I love the song Where she gose I Go,

John Nitzinger is a guitar master very under rated because not too many people have heard of him. I want the box set, Johnis fantastic and if he tours my city I will be on the front row.

2.0 out of 5 stars Would the real ...., February 27, 2001
This review is from: Going Back to Texas (Audio CD)
Is this the guy who played lead git on the first Bloodrock LP's back in the 70's? I think he is - but why one earth does he now play average standard blues / blues rock, with the emphasis on average standard? They can do better in Texas! The songs don't really have a hook, and the solos don't really bite. With 2 million blues rock players out there, this is really not worth the effort. But maybe my vision of what he contributed to one of my fave bads is blurred.
