5.0 out of 5 stars Among the best..., February 13, 2002

This review is from: Going To California: A Classical Guitarist's Tribute To Led Zeppelin (Audio CD)
If this album were nationally marketed, it would surely make Mr. DeVinck a popular man (and a richer one).

This album is an absolute masterpiece, hands down. Whether you are a fan of Zeppelin or not, a dabbler in classical guitar or not, in little league or the geriatric league, you will treasure this music.

It is one of those albums that refuses to go unnoticed. I often play it softly in the background when we have company, and inevitably people comment on it. It pulls you in with the familiarity of Zeppelin's classics, but it capitivates you with the inimitable sounds of the classical guitar.

Buy it, love it, pass the word on.

5.0 out of 5 stars acoustic, classic & celtic, August 12, 2002

Richard DeVinck gives a marvellous example of how Led Zeppelin can be played in an acoustic and 'classical' way. He combines classical elements with jazz and celtic influences and it all makes up for a fine listening experience. It shows clearly the more melodic and lyrical side of Led Zeppelin, without getting soft or too simplistic. Every song gets its own treatment and
R. DeVinck succeeds in getting the right atmosphere on every track. The sound is great too. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Though I debated having rock and roll at my wedding we, June 11, 2002

decided a gentler approach would do and this was the answer! I must have every Led Zeppelin tribute album there is and of course every Zed Zeppelin album. I always knew their songs were masterpieces for serious quiet contemplation as well as for the rock stage but now finally a CD that proves it....These are just the cuts I would have chosen for classical interpretation. Thanks to Master DeVinck.
