5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating portrait of the modern board game industry
Probably only that interesting to those already into modern board games. The history of board game revival, development process, and struggle to get a game published are all covered nicely.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Sampling of the Board Game Industry
Obviously an effort of hard work and passion for the industry. It's not pro grade nor should it be viewed that way. A good watch if you have moderate or less knowledge of the industry and board game history. Applaud the effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating Film About Modern Board Games, October 13, 2013

Though now a bit dated, this film provides a unique window into the world of board gaming and its roots. If you're an avid board gamer or just want to learn about a fascinating subject, this is definitely worth your time. I was quite impressed with all of the notable board game "rock stars" that were featured. They included the designers of the big hits like The Settlers of Catan, Dominion, Power Grid, and many more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty fun documentary on the recent upswing in the tabletop gaming market, December 10, 2014

Pretty fun documentary on the recent upswing in the tabletop gaming market, especially in light of the exponentially greater rise in video games. Personally, I find that tabletop games generally require much more intelligence and imagination than any video game experience (which essentially spoon-feeds your mind and replaces your own imagination). I was a big fan of D&D for a few years, growing up, and I've always found those memories to have been far more imaginative and interesting than video games - even if the latter is more visually stimulating.

Learned a lot about board games and it was great to see and hear the thoughts of many on the designers of many of my favorite euro games.

Nice overview of the current "revolution" in gaming of merging New World "Ameritrash" themed card games with figurine-based "Eurogames" that followed Settlers of Catan. Worth checking out if you are enthralled in the fangs of boardgames.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Love Letter, July 31, 2014

Great information here, and revealing for the board gaming enthusiast. The sound and cinematography can vary greatly, but it seems to be a love letter of sorts to those of us who enjoy something that most don't understand.

3.0 out of 5 stars Poorly done and random, but worth a watch, October 22, 2013

If you like modern boardgames, you are likely to know much of what is going on in this documentary before you watch it there isn't too much that is new. It is poorly filmed, and has a wandering, semi-random approach to determining its subject, or lack thereof. And yet, you do get to see and hear from some of the most interesting celebrities of the hobby gaming industry. Take note though that this is a very fast moving industry and even though this movie is only a few years old, it already seems pretty dated. Some of the interviewees have risen in fame, some have disappeared almost entirely, and the industry as a whole has grown by leaps and bounds!
