A Good Read, May 25, 2009
This review is from: Going Down Hard (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
GOING DOWN HARD by Tawny Weber is the follow up to COMING ON STRONG. GDH picks up a little after COS finishes but with back story added in to show us what has been happening during Sierra's life before COS starts.
I didn't hate it but then I didn't go OMG and drool all over it at the end. I liked it. It was a decent read. I enjoyed the story and would recommend it as a good book to read. It wasn't what I would call sweep me off my feet fantastic. OR You must run and and get it now and read it. It was a good story with good characters that I wanted to read about and see how they got their Happily Ever After.
I liked how Sierra and Reece both thought that they were totally wrong for each other but just couldn't stop thinking about the other. I liked that they could go at each other verbally and knew that they weren't being mean but that it was verbal foreplay.
I was a little confused with the tormentor behind the stalking. I think it could have had a little more depth to it. You kind of get an idea that maybe it was this person but you didn't know why. It was explained and kind of hastily wrapped up in my opinion. It was just a little to humph for me. Like that explains anything.
In the end I will probably keep reading Tawny's books. I enjoyed them and they gave me the escape I was looking for.

Suspenseful, December 2, 2011
This review is from: Going Down Hard (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Although I don't read a whole lot of Blaze books I did enjoy reading this one. It is very much a romantic suspense because there is a real mystery that must be solved before it is too late and I enjoy books with mysteries/suspense. The heroine and hero are well suited for each other even though they don't see eye-to-eye on how to solve the threat to the heroine. Sierra Donovan is a special events company co-owner. Someone is sending her pictures generated on a computer which shows her in erotic positions. This scares her and her partner into hiring Reece Carter to find out who is sending them. Then they find out that a picture was sent to the very conservative family values that their company is trying to get a very lucrative contract from. They decide to hire a bodyguard/investigator to uncover who is responsible. Reece Carter is a security specialist who is a friend of Sierra's partner's husband. Sierra knows Reece because she had a one night stand with him and she doesn't really want him to be the investigator. However they do hire him to find out the truth of who's responsible. He and Sierra conflict over how he is to do his job. Since both are strong willed they have some very serious disagreements because Sierra is trying to tell him what to do and not do.

entertaining well written romantic suspense, May 7, 2009
This review is from: Going Down Hard (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
In Southern California, Sierra Donovan is stunned by the photos she just received of her naked except for chocolate syrup and twelve tongues licking her. She knows this is a fake, but someone professionally makes her look perverted, which is not good for a special events company co-owner. The person who created the fraud is blackmailing her at a time when she and her partner Belle Forsham (see COMING ON STRONG) are trying to win the lucrative contract of a very conservative family values company.
Sierra wants to forget the issue as she has a dark secret that she prefers to remain buried. However, Belle believes whoever is behind this extortion went a long way to put this together and will not just quit. Belle hires security expert Reece Carter to keep Sierra safe. Reese and Sierra have shared several one night stands and he wants more, but she has doubts as her past has come back to haunt her.
This is an entertaining well written romantic suspense with the mysteries of who is bribing Sierra and what she is hiding from Reese make for a fabulous read. The story line is fast-paced from the opening photo until the climax as Reese refuses to back down one iota in his quest to keep Sierra safe and to know what she conceals. Tawny Weber provides a wonderful whodunit romance.
