In Southern California, Sierra Donovan is stunned by the photos she just received of her naked except for chocolate syrup and twelve tongues licking her. She knows this is a fake, but someone professionally makes her look perverted, which is not good for a special events company co-owner. The person who created the fraud is blackmailing her at a time when she and her partner Belle Forsham (see COMING ON STRONG) are trying to win the lucrative contract of a very conservative family values company.

Sierra wants to forget the issue as she has a dark secret that she prefers to remain buried. However, Belle believes whoever is behind this extortion went a long way to put this together and will not just quit. Belle hires security expert Reece Carter to keep Sierra safe. Reese and Sierra have shared several one night stands and he wants more, but she has doubts as her past has come back to haunt her.

This is an entertaining well written romantic suspense with the mysteries of who is bribing Sierra and what she is hiding from Reese make for a fabulous read. The story line is fast-paced from the opening photo until the climax as Reese refuses to back down one iota in his quest to keep Sierra safe and to know what she conceals. Tawny Weber provides a wonderful whodunit romance.

Plagued by a great desire for the wrong type of man, Sierra is determined to ignore the sizzling heat between her and Reece Carter. From the moment they first met six years ago during the lead up to the wedding of Sierra's best friend Belle to Reece's cousin Mitch, sparks flew and passion was ignited. However, when the wedding didn't take place, Sierra & Reece funneled that passion into intense dislike for one another until Belle & Mitch reunited and threw them back together again. Now someone is trying to undermine Belle & Sierra's business by sending explicit doctored photos of Sierra. Sierra refuses to give in, but when an exclusive contract is threatened, she agrees to Belle's demand to hire Reece's security firm for protection and to get to the bottom of the threats. Sierra is afraid that Reece's digging will bring problems from her past to light and she doesn't want that to happen. She's also afraid to give in to the passion that still sparks between them. Reece is determined that this time he's not going to let Sierra get away before they can explore the heat that has burned inside of him for the last six years and he's also going to figure out who is terrorizing the sexiest woman he's ever known.

Spoiler Alert!

Siera was annoying, trite, stupid sometimes, and just down right ignorant other times. Siera treated Reece like crap and he was a great guy. He tried to protect her and all she did was give him hell. Now the people that treated her like crap, she paid off. That's backwards for me. Oh and what gets me is she hired protection (Reese) and then wouldn't let the man do his job. Seriously, it's common sense for security to check out your past, present, & future to see where the threat is coming from. I don't know any security type personnel that takes their clients word for whom not to make a suspect or not to investigate. It just felt like Reese let Sierra get away with things too much instead of telling her to go take a hike. She never seemed to soften towards him except when they were in bed. This book felt more like war than a romance.

GOING DOWN HARD by Tawny Weber is the follow up to COMING ON STRONG. GDH picks up a little after COS finishes but with back story added in to show us what has been happening during Sierra's life before COS starts.

I didn't hate it but then I didn't go OMG and drool all over it at the end. I liked it. It was a decent read. I enjoyed the story and would recommend it as a good book to read. It wasn't what I would call sweep me off my feet fantastic. OR You must run and and get it now and read it. It was a good story with good characters that I wanted to read about and see how they got their Happily Ever After.

I liked how Sierra and Reece both thought that they were totally wrong for each other but just couldn't stop thinking about the other. I liked that they could go at each other verbally and knew that they weren't being mean but that it was verbal foreplay.

I was a little confused with the tormentor behind the stalking. I think it could have had a little more depth to it. You kind of get an idea that maybe it was this person but you didn't know why. It was explained and kind of hastily wrapped up in my opinion. It was just a little to humph for me. Like that explains anything.

In the end I will probably keep reading Tawny's books. I enjoyed them and they gave me the escape I was looking for.
