Heating up the airwaves - very highly recommended,

This review is from: Going For It (Harlequin Blaze) (Paperback)
When Dr. Jamie talks sex, all of Manhattan listens. Her late night radio talk show is about straight answers without euphemisms, no giggling, and the trademark encouragement of, "Go for it!" Her talent has taken Jamie to the number one show in her market, and brought her to the attention of journalist Darlene Whittaker. Darlene believes that Jamie is a fake, and will stop at nothing to prove it. So, during a live interview, Darlene challenges Jamie to step up to the plate or be denounced as a fake. Bad boy Chase Newman commands respect with an aura of charisma no woman can resist. Darlene convinces him to try to seduce Jamie with all of Manhattan privy to their relationship. Darlene figures that since Jamie claims no woman can be seduced without her permission, Chase is the man to prove Jamie wrong. The gimmick promises national syndication if Jamie can resist Chase's seductive allure. But she has a secret that threatens to blow her out of the station booth if Manhattan learns what a fraud she really is. GOING FOR IT by Jo Leigh proves that sometimes the mind takes the back seat to the body's desires, especially when the heart steps in. Boldly exploring the nature of sexual relationships, this author understands what it takes to motivate men and women, including both the differences and the similarities. With a fun plot and graceful sexual exploration, GOING FOR IT is both daring yet romantic in its scope. Very highly recommended.

Great Book!,

Jo Leigh's first book in the new Blaze line is truly a red-hot read that pushes the limits of category romance (in a good way!). The story is basically that a radio sex therapist who claims women can't be seduced if they don't want to be is challenged by this awful reporter woman that she can be seduced by this playboy. I was a little uncomfortable with the premise. Not because it "pushed the envelope," but because the reporter was beyond awful, so I spent too much of the book **wanting** the hero and heroine to stay apart so the awful woman didn't win! I've never had that happen before! But the book was still wonderful. I think Leigh also did the best job of the first four Blaze authors at pushing the envelope, particularly when the hero and heroine began discussing something on her radio show that I don't think I've ever read discussed so frankly in a romance novel. And it seemed really modern, with pop culture reference and other elements that made it seem like it really was happening today, in 2001. It really was a "contemporary" romance. An excellent book with good conflict and VERY steamy scenes. I loved it!

surprisingly good,
This review is from: Going For It (Harlequin Blaze) (Paperback)
A bitter reporter challenges a radio sexpert to prove her theory that nobody can be seduced against her will, and enlists a hunky race car driver and well-known ladies man to try to seduce her.
Going for It was surprisingly good--I was pretty well grabbed by this one. My only problem was that I couldn't get over the premise. I did like the sexpert's message reminding women that it is a choice, but it seems to me that all decisions to have sex involve seduction in some way. Just an unfortunate choice of words, I suppose, but because it was such a big part of the story, I spent the first half of the book pondering that rather than the story itself.
