I never heard of this artist but listening to the CD is like rediscovering an old friend. She not only sings with a rich, full jazz/easy listening/oldies alto but she's written every number! Haunting, lyrical, snazzy - a must have in any collection, she follows in the footsteps of Cleo Laine, who encouraged her career.

I bought this cd because of the review comparing her to Cleo Laine. When the cd came and I saw her photo, I thought no way. But the first note sent chills up my spine. I've already played this cd numerous times and it just gets better and better. This is a superb addition to any jazz fan's collection. It's made even better by the fact that she's written all the songs.
