Smallest, Lightest, Greatest Load Capicity, June 11, 2009
This review is from: Travel Folding Luggage Cart (Apparel)
I travel from the US to foreign countries with three pieces of luggage
weighing 180 lbs. Two big square soft sided duffel bags at 70 lbs each that I check and a 40 lb carryon. I need a cart to get all three pieces from the curb to the airline counter, then roll my carryon to the gate, down the jetway, then collapse the luggage cart, put it inside my carryon bag and board the plane. This cart is rated at 75 lbs yet I've made many trips using it in this manner. I am on my second cart though as I have found it's limitations.
It will not survive with this much weight on it pulling it up a curb! The telescoping arms pulled out of the bottom sections. I was able to put it back together to make it home but once is was disjointed it was never the same. I've just destroyed my second cart after rolling this load on and off ferrys in Greece for a month. I have owned and tried other carts but none are as light and fold down small enough to fit in a carryon yet [almost]handle this much weight. So I am here shopping for something the same size but more robust. I'm actually considering have a copy welded up in tubular aircraft aluminum.
I thought someone else shopping for a luggage cart with a lighter load might like to know what a great design this is.

handy sturdy cart, August 26, 2006

So far, I'm pretty satisfied with this product. It's light and easy to fold up for placement in carry-on baggage, yet durable enough to support several pieces of luggage. The handle can be pulled out to a length that is comfortable for someone of above-average height and arm span. It's held up even when items have accidentally been pulled off the base.

Saved my back and feet, January 9, 2007

I was taking a course in Interior Design at our community college, and the parking lot nearest the building was closed for rebuilding. The course required that we bring drafting tools and supplies every week; with case and purse, this came to about 20 pounds. I'm 70 and 5 ft tall, and hiking with that load isn't my idea of a good time. The cart did the lugging for me but was light and easy to fold up to return to the trunk of my car. Love this thing! Thank goodness that semester is over. I'll use it when travelling, too.
