"You’re a tramp, Bat Boy. I don’t care what you say. You a tramp. Bat Boy, you just a tramp.” —Otis Redding

About the Author

Led by Neil McGinness, Weekly World News, has inspired hit feature films, television shows, and musicals. Rooted in the creative success of over thirty years of supermarket tabloid publishing, the company recently joined forces with Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks Television to develop new entertainment properties. Bat Boy first debuted as a Weekly World News cover story on June 23, 1992, and the original front-page photo of Bat Boy was the second bestselling issue in the tabloid’s history; it has since evolved into a pop-culture icon. Bat Boy currently stars in his very own musical, Bat Boy: The Musical, which in 2010 will be performed over 200 times in over 20 different states and countries. The original off-Broadway production of the musical won wide acclaim and awards, including both the Lucille Lortel Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award.

This is the definitive resource for all serious scholars of Bat Boy. Dr. Leed has painstakingly researched the origins of the Bat Boy and presented the information in an easy to use manual. This work represents the most detailed description of the Bat Boy to date, exploring the origins of the creature as well as documenting some of his most famous exploits. Although rigorous in execution, the data presented does not read like a text book or scientific paper. Rather, the good doctor has woven a tale so complex and rich with detail that one could almost believe that this is a work of fiction. This work will stand the tests of time and the rigors of peer-review and will, undoubtedly, thrust Dr. Leed into the ranks of such great thinkers as Ptolemy, Copernicus and Einstein.

This is the most comprehensive history of Bat Boy I have ever seen. There should not be a home in the United States without a copy available.

Personally not the biggest fan of reading books, however with 'Going Mutant' it was a completely different circumstance. Probably one of the first times in my life where I have reduced my sleeping hours in order to stay up and read.
The minute I started reading it I found it impossible to put back down. It is compatible for all ages and I honestly think everybody will enjoy reading it - great story line, very clever and quite funny.. I highly suggest you go out and buy yourself a copy today!

Been waiting like three years for this novel to come out, essentially ever since the publication stopped coming in print. I hope they decide to print a book for my other favorite character, phD Ape. In terms of this book, it was a really fun and cool story of where it all began. I actually saw the play a few weeks ago which was pretty interesting as well .. funny how many different renditions of BatBoy there are out there

WOW I am blown away by this book...never read through a book that quick in a while. Very exciting, entertaining, and fresh. Finally Batboy is getting the love he deserves. I can't wait to see what's next! I also recommend that users go to the WWN website ([...]/) they have so many other characters it is great..

This is a really fun book based on one of the best characters in Weekly World News. I have to admit that I have been a WWN fan ever since the classic movie, "So I married an Axe Murderer", though I can imagine anyone with a sense of humor will find this book a great read.
