Hosted by Al Roker, each installment invites viewers to tag along to one of the different, exciting locales, where every aspect of the place is explored and sampled. From culture and history, to shopping and dining, to recreation and sightseeing, no famous highlight is overlooked, and several lesser known gems are joyfully uncovered.
The Caribbean
A well-known antidote for them mid-winter blues, a sun-drenched cruise to the exotic islands of the Caribbean serves to life the spirits of travelers from all over the world. This episode of Going Places looks beyond shuffle board and bingo, instead providing a VIP ticket to lounge on The Sun Princess, the largest cruise ship in the world, and accompanying 200 honeymooning couples on the luxury liner, Majesty of the Sea. Viewers will also get off the boat at various ports-of-call, including the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, enjoy a private tour of exotic island plantations, and even make a special side trip to the Bahamas' island of Exumas, in search of host Al Roker's family heritage.
