The scenes of nature in Going Places: Yellowstone in Winter are so beautiful to behold they seem unnatural, as if the snow and sky have been digitally enhanced. Educational, yet easy to follow, this video is like the World Book come to life accompanied by a promotional pamphlet for what seems to be one of the most gorgeous winter places on earth. In 1872 Yellowstone became the first national park in the world, and as the travelogue unfolds it's easy to see why. Old Faithful's steam billows against mountains of snow, extreme skiers take a hill, a mini-avalanche is caused. Nature, not tourism, is the star here, yet the show still points out local places to eat and stay or places to shop. It's an adventure that will make you want to be one of the 125,000 people who visit Yellowstone each winter. --Valerie J. Nelson

Yellowstone Left Out December 16, 2001
There is little about Yellowstone in this video. It should have been titled, "Jackeson Hole Entertainment." It looks like something the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce would send you free.
