4.0 out of 5 stars Electric Jug?
These guys have a very unique sound which probably comes from their main lyricist insisting on writing and usually performing while tripping on LSD. This is the same guy you plays an 'electric jug' which is apparently just a jug with a microphone attached to it. This gives them one of the most unique sounds ever and actually complements most of the tunes instead of...

1.0 out of 5 stars Most songs are cut short
I'd advise anybody out there who is thinking about buying this edition
to look elsewhere because most songs are cut short . Get the lp because the sound and uncut songs are so much better , Trust me .

4.0 out of 5 stars Electric Jug?, March 23, 2010

These guys have a very unique sound which probably comes from their main lyricist insisting on writing and usually performing while tripping on LSD. This is the same guy you plays an 'electric jug' which is apparently just a jug with a microphone attached to it. This gives them one of the most unique sounds ever and actually complements most of the tunes instead of driving you crazy like you would think. If it hadn't been for the happy accident of like the film 'High Fidelity' I wouldn't have known who this band was when I read about them in the book 'The Best Music You've Never Heard'. I bought this album on the strength of those two things and have been happy with it. 'Scarlet and Gold' is my favorite song on the album with a great bass line.

I know International Artists are remastering these songs, but for a great introduction to the groundbreaking band - the group that created psychedelic rock - list to this. Also see my article on an original member of the group -

It's great. I bought it for my husband. I knew he would like it, but I didn't expect to like it myself as well as I do. They do some great covers: The Beatles' "Tax Man", and "Cherry,Cherry" by Neil Diamond. I would recommend it to anyone who likes 60's rock.

It brought back some memories. I notice that Dell is using one of the songs in one of their ads. Some good stuff.
