This sixth entry into the collection of Shirley MacLaine's spiritual odyssey, strays from the roots of the rest of the books. This guide is a guide to be in tune and in harmony with your self. Let me tell you, it helped me. She discusses the Chakras, Chanting, Sexuality, and the New Age Movement in general. An insightful and very informative read!!!

After reading this book and listening to the audio tape as well...I must say I was transformed. I used her tape to guide my meditations, during which I had a vision of my sister in the hospital. I called home and found out my sister was in emergency surgery and had almost died. If we just open our mind, it's amazing what we can see.

I have enjoyed all of the books by Shirley MacLaine, but these tapes have touched me and assisted me in so many ways. I recommend them to everyone in my metaphysical group who asks for a nice guided-meditation tape. The meditations are superb! I use the meditation that helps you find and balance your chakras all the time! In fact, I just had to order a new one because my old one finally wore out from such frequent use! These are great tapes for both beginners and long-time meditators.

Shirley has done it again! Through this book, she helped me get in touch with my life energies. Like her, I have suffered from anxiety throughout my life. This book taught me how I can channel positive energies that can be life-transforming.

The book will teach the reader about chakras and how to use visualization in order to create positive outcomes in your life and to increase spiritual awareness. It will help you open your mind to the possibility of higher forms of awareness who channel spiritual truths. It may also help you explore the possibility that you have had past lives and how they have impacted upon your current life experience. As in all of her books, she intimately shares her own life experience in a way that the reader can easily connect with.

As the author of a spiritually-themed novel entitled "The Misadventures of Sister Mary Olga Fortitude," I am always on the outlook for books that provide food for my soul. This was a book that did it for me. I have discovered that when I seek, I do find.

Going Within by Shirley MacLaine is an absolute must for anyone who wants to get to the bottom of what makes us tick. It is a most spiritually enlightening look at what keeps us from growing as a species and what we can do to change that.

This is an absolutely wonderful book. I also purchased the meditation tape of Shirley Maclaine's. Shirley is someone I admire, for her intelligence, adventure, and ability to write so beautifully. Her courage goes without question. In reading many of her books, just about all of them, I find her beliefs in many things to be quite sound. We have an arrogance to think, we are all that's out there. Common sense, if we are
here, why can't others be elsewhere in a galaxy. "Going Within" helps one to understand that the ability to settle the mind, helps us to open more to a higher force. We become more peaceful, creative, understanding, and hopefully, more open to other things, studies, whatever. We also have a better understanding of who we are, and may have things we would like to change about ourselves. Just be open and calm.

If you have read other books by Shirley MacLaine you can rest assured that you will get just what you are expecting and a bit more with this one. I love how candid and human she is. Her writing flows easily and the stories are fun to read but they are not without depth. I also liked that at the end of the book has the first chapter from her next one. That one is less about her spiritual life and more about her career (by the way). I like her so much I find myself wishing our paths would cross as I am sure if we did, she would somehow notice too.
