5.0 out of 5 stars Better than hydrocortisone
Last night I got a strange (allergic ?) reaction. My legs from the ankle to my knees became lobster red and extremely itchy. So itchy that I was using my metal hairbrush to scratch.

My husband ran to the pharmacy but because they were closed he ended up buying every single anti-itch cream they had, including Gold Bond.

1.0 out of 5 stars Watch out...........
Due to frequent time gardening in the sunshine, I've experienced dry, itchy skin on my left arm. This product initially (day one) provided cool comfort. I thought that I finally found something to alleviate the "itchies", without seeking the help of a doctor. On day two, after rubbing on a good amount before bed, I developed a red, bumpy rash all over the area covered...

I literally tried then all. None of them provided the relief I needed except for Gold Bond. The relief was almost immediate with Gold Bond and I was finally able to go to sleep after putting it on.

All the others, no relief at all. It was like I hadn't even put any anti-itch cream on.

I really thought I was going to lose my mind last night. Gold Bond saved my sanity.

Today, not a sign that I even had a problem. I did put the Gold Bond on, just in case. :o)

U P D A T E: Turns out I did have an allergic reaction.... to my birth control pill - Yaz. As soon as I stopped taking it, the rash went away, but the Gold Bond was a life saver while trying to figure this out.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Anti-Itch Cream Available!, November 26, 2006
Over the last couple years I have suffered from chronic hives - a very itchy condition (to say the least)! In order to find some measure of relief I began trying all sorts of anti-itch cream - and none of them made a dent in my discomfort. That is until I tried Gold Bond. This product has finally given me the itching relief I was looking for.

I love this product so much that I my husband & I actually bought their stock - something we don't do very often.

Given the relief I've found, I would HIGHLY recommend Gold Bond Medicated Anti-Itch Cream to anyone in need of such a product. It has worked miracles for me - maybe it will do the same for you...

This is my first time trying this cream - I use it mostly for insect bites after being in my garden. I tried it after reading great reviews and I have to agree, it works.

Anything Gold Bond is an excellant product. It works like a charm for almost anything even the sore elbow of a quadpaligic. He swears by it and so do I. No nasty stain or oder, rubs in without a mess. The price is good, the product is even better. Wouldn't be caught without it in the house

5.0 out of 5 stars Best itch relief out there, July 21, 2011
This review is from: Gold Bond Medicated Anti-Itch Cream, 2-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 3) (Health and Beauty)
I have used a fair amount of itch relief products, and this one is by far the best for offering cool soothing relief. I first came across this about 5 years ago when my younger brother broke out with rashes while we were on vacation at the beach. We went and bought about 3-4 different anti-itch and anti-rash cream, and this gold bond worked the best. Since then, I've used it on occasion for poison ivy and allergic rash itch relief. It lasts a long time because you only need a tiny bit. Similar to other bold bond products, it seems that it can be used for sensitive skin and even sensitive areas. I was familiar with the gold bond powder, which when I used was very happy with it; and I have since used the gold bond moisturizing lotion, which is also a great product. So, I am very pleased with this itch product and every other gold bond product that I've used so far. I don't know if this "heals" an area, per se, but I do know it's itch relief is fantastic.

It might seem odd to write a review on an anti-itch cream but I've had a rash on my leg that I could not get any relief from any other cream. I don't know why this one would be any different but it is. I started using it this morning and the itching stopped and the little bumps have started disappearing. Worth every penny spent!

4.0 out of 5 stars Getting tattooed? Get Gold Bond, October 29, 2010

This review is from: Gold Bond Medicated Anti-Itch Cream, 2-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 3) (Health and Beauty)
This cream is fantastic.

I'm in the process of getting very extensively tattooed, and for me, the itch from them healing is way worse than getting the work itself done (mostly because, at worst, the itch can last for weeks.)

Considering the substantial financial investment that by definition comes with getting many tattoos, the thought of maybe ruining them because of not being able to stop myself from scratching with both hands (yes, it really can get that bad) is extremely frustrating. I took a chance that Gold Bond's cream would work, and I couldn't be happier with the results. It truly helps me keep my art intact, as well as my sanity... the mental fatigue that can result from having to focus on not scratching for as hard and long as I can gets very old, very quickly.

If the itching is sometimes more than you can bear, you need this.

As for why I've given it 4 instead of 5 stars, the odor is fairly medicinal. It's impossible to wear discretely. I don't use it during work hours or when I'm going out, but for me, since for some reason my itching mostly takes place at night, it's not that big of a deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Miracle product, October 6, 2010

I live in a sub-tropical climate. In the hottest part of the summer, I get the worst hives and contact dermatitis. This has been going on for years, and I've suffered through it. The only thing that ever gave me any relief was steroid cream I got from my doctor a few years back (it was a big tub of it). The steroid cream ran out this year, and I no longer have health insurance. After checking reviews here, I decided to try Gold Bond Medicated Anti-Itch Cream, and I am SO glad I did. It is a MIRACLE CREAM. How I have lived the past few years without this stuff is beyond me. It totally gets rid of the hives and contact dermatitis overnight, and the itch relief is pretty much IMMEDIATE. Yep, that's right, IMMEDIATE. It also was integral, with other products, in helping to knock out a pretty gnarly case of ringworm I got earlier this summer. Now I am never without a tube of it in the medicine cabinet and one in my bag. If you have itchy skin issues at all, get your hands on this stuff. It really is that good.

I bought this for my Dad. He is 83 and very itchy due to different problems. Gold Bond is the only thing that helps. However when Amazon cut me off from buying it (as he goes through a 3 pack every two weeks)we did some research and found that it deadens the nerve endings causing a loss of feeling. When it wears off he has to wash and put more on. Ubfortunately his dermatologist has been unable to find anything that works as well as Gold Bond. I am hoping that the warmer weather will help because it is not good to use too much of this.

Its a five star product but dont over use it.
