Sound is terrible, but the performances are GREAT!,

The sound on this CD is terrible and variable, but that only adds to the raw power of Dr. John's performances. While my recommendation of this CD is not whole-hearted, for fans of Dr. John and New Orleans music, I think the disc is essential.
Of course, there's no information included about when the tracks were recorded. Let's just say they're "historical." And poor sound or not, "The Gold Collection" is still worthwhile.
