Interesting, articulate music from an overlooked band, January 7, 2009
This review is from: Gold Dust Trail (Audio CD)
For proof that we live in an unfair world, look no further than the curious case of Warm in the Wake, a band as interesting as anything else being touted as the next coming in indie rock. Despite creating articulate, smart music and lyrics, this outfit is remains relegated to the margins of the music world.
"Gold Dust Trail" is a relatively short recording, but the precise playing, briskly paced songs, interplay of guitar (electric, pedal steel, acoustic) and keyboard, and well-honed rhythm section show these guys are serious. True, it takes a bit of work to disentangle the words, but that's half the fun here, and the up-tempo tunes are worth your time regardless.

warm thoughts, December 19, 2007
This review is from: Gold Dust Trail (Audio CD)
Fantastic EP. I discovered these guys on MySpace and have been a fan ever since. The amazing thing is that this ep came out the same year as their first full-length.
Although the full length is great, I'd recommend people start with this one. It's full of bouncy melodies that recall Wilco, The Thrills, The Band and all the great classic rock bands we grew up with. Great songwriting, excellent musicianship (especially the keyboards... wow).
This is a really fun record, and one of my favorites for 2007.
