Of course, "Gold" is only one of many albums (CDs) by Frank Sinatra, but the 12 songs presented is a good selection (and collection). All of the performances are re-releases, naturally, and nothing new is added, but it's pure Sinatra, Sinatra in top form, and a good choice as a "sample" of his works.

The choices range from "All the Way" through "I've Got You Under My Skin" and concludes with "Chicago." This EMI-Capitol Music edition is yet another example of marketing Sinatra perfection. It's nice to be able to get such music amidst the din, the cacophony of much of today's "entertainment." (Billyjhobbs@tyler.net)

When ever I go on vacation, I ALWAYS take this CD with me. All the songs on the CD are among my favorite Sinatra recordings. The CD quality is absolutely wonderful, clear as a bell. When I listen to it on headphones...I can almost swear that Ol' Blue Eyes himself is singing in my ear! I recommended this CD to anyone who wants to get to know what Frank Sinatra sounded like or would want to relive the memories of a time long gone by.

Of all the Best Hits CD's put out by Frank Sinatra, this is, without question, the best. It is 35 minutes of pure gold. Not only is the song choice phenomenal, with songs like "Young at Heart", "All the Way", "Witchcraft", and "Nice `n` Easy", but the recording is superb. From start to finish the recordings are flawless, with superior quality than other versions of the same songs recorded elsewhere.
Sinatra's voice is timeless, never sounding better. With the mixture of classical instruments, melodies, and pure talent this CD never ceases to astonish me. The only fault I can find in this CD is the length. Considering Sinatra's countless hits, the play list could have been more than twelve songs. This CD is a must have item, however, availability is severely limited.
Whether you are a Sinatra fan or not, this CD is amazing and everyone should have a copy in their collection.

I'm not a big Sinatra fan, but I knew I'd like to hear some of the old songs from back in the day. This album brings back a lot of memories from the mid-60s, just before the Beatles, Stones, Led Zeppelin, and all that rot. Memories of Sunday drives from suburban Chicago to Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, or southern Illinois, in the backseat of the family sedan, having visited friends and family, or taken a day trip. This album provides you with a good selection of Old Blue Eyes at his finest. And with such good fidelity, his voice is just great.

Chicago, Chicago, that toddeling town.....

This is a good album. I enjoy songs of his like Chicago, and I get a kick out of you. Yes this is an ok album but not his best. I prefer the out of print, "The Best of Frank Sinatra" Please encourage Capitol Records to reissue it.

When I was about 15 I heard this album on a cassette my father got. I've been a fan ever since. Nuff said.

For all ! Having most every record Frank has ever recorded ; Frank Sinatra's GOLD will make your heart dance ! Best of his Best . This one you should , & must not go without ! You will , without help ; keep singing ; hold your Loved one ; & wish the songs will never end . So there . Anyways - take my word on this one ! It'll put a smile in your life !

Almost nothing takes us back to a period in our lives like sound.....beautiful music. Music touches us deeply, and especially when it takes us back to what we were doing, who we were with, where we were, and how was our mood.

Unfortunately, I cannot go back to the Sinatra era. I cannot connect with anything from that time, only pictures. And now, I am able to explore and enjoy the work of popular entertainers who gave us this wonderful, pure, fresh music. Frank Sinatra was known as one of the best musical entertainers; he was "the voice." Years ago, I would not have listened to him.

If you are new to the music of the big band and Sinatra, take this CD on a car trip, listen to the voice, the unique sound of the past, and those refreshing historic lyrics. The big band sound is unique these days, the songs here are very well-known hits, the voice is distinct and forever reminiscent.

If you grew up listening to the big band and Sinatra, you will be taken back to that time when you can recapture the events of that time. ....Rizzo

4 stars because there are only 12 songs, but they are great songs. You can get it pretty cheap used since there are a LOT of prints of this CD out there. Got mine for 1 cent + $2.59 S&H :) If you don't already have these songs, buy it you'll like it "all the way"!

This was shipped by alovesupreme last Fri. received to-day. It is simply great and if you miss out on buying this you will be so sorry. Nice and Easy was one of Sinatra's first records - the tone of this CD is terrific - am going back for more.
