The Gold Heart is a wonderful story of love, life, and loss. The story tells out beautifully and the ending takes your breath away and leaves you touched and connected with the characters. I liked this book most because it tells a romance from that is firmly grounded in real life. And while there is the happiness you expect to find, the story of it is filled with the joys and heart aches that you and I find in our own lives. The Gold Heart, in my opinion, is a must read and is rated a strong, but touching, a 4 kleenex read!

As a friendly relationship between a nurse and her elderly patient develops, the patient's brutal story of growing up during the Depression with an abusive father and the love that saves him emerges.

LeRoy Flanders is a gifted writer and "The Gold Heart" is a rollercoaster ride of emotion.

While the author is new, The Gold Heart is a great book about life and the love and loss we all face in it. I started reading it the first night and finished it the next morning, both surprised that I read all night and happy about the book. It's alittle sad but I do believe it is a definite read for the romantic in everyone!
