GOD in the Fire
Joshua Markham has no problems taking risks as a firefighter. But in matters of the heart it is a different story. He was left at the altar on his wedding day and so is afraid of taking risks at love again.
Darcy O'Brien has lost her husband to death. Her marriage wasn't that good so she also is having problems taking risks at love. Also she has been at odds with her Dad for 10 years and is now home because he had a heart attack. She only plans to stay for the summer. But fires being sit in barns bring Joshua and Darcy together.
Joshus struggled with forgiveness of the woman who left him standing at the altar while she married someone else.
Darcy has never felt her Dad loved her because she couldn't measure up to his expectations. I don't know about anyone else but I have dealt with this with my Mother.
When I got this book, I was going through so many medical issues that I felt it would be a great help. But the book got misplaced until God was ready for me to read it. At the time I picked it up again, I was dealing with emotionally hurts from someone I truly cared about. I felt betrayed by my friend even though it had nothing to do with marriage I could feel Joshua's hurt. I still am struggling with the forgiveness.
This story is one you will stay with from beginning to end.
Light in the Storm
Samuel Morgan and his three children move to Sweetwater Lake to start over. He has lost his wife to breast cancer. He is still dealing with his grief and cannot see his grief for trying to deal with his three kids.
Beth Coleman is his daughter, Jane's teacher. They meet at a Parent/Teacher Conference to discuss why Jane is not doing her work. Beth finally realizes Jane is struggling trying to cover up for a learning difficulty. As she has dealt with the same thing she is able to open up to Jane and help her.
Just as Samuel is coming to grips with the loss of his wife he is faced with the fear he could lose Beth as well.
Beth has her life all planned out for her but doesn't realize God's plans are not her plans. It takes her awhile to realize God can use her right where she is at.
If you are dealing with breast cancer or have lost someone to breast cancer, this book will uplift you. Or if like me, you keep facing one medically problem after another andlooking for answers, it can also help you.
