Stops bleeding impressively fast. And works better than flour and/or other styptic powder products on the market.

We are new to having a dog. We got a rescue about 4 months ago. He's such a good dog! 3 1/2 yrs. old. Anyhow he's a stinky dog so he's bathed every 3 weeks or so. After having him for 6 weeks or so, I noticed his nails were long, splitting and in pretty poor condition. They clearly were not trimmed in a very long time. So I got a manual nail clipper. Considering I have not truly groomed a dog since I was just a boy, I was nervous about cutting too close. So I trimmed the nails but just the tips. It took time to build confidence.

I then bought this, just in case. I hoped I would never need it.

Well, yesterday I bathed the dog and trimmed his Nails. unfortunately, he pulled right as I clipped and I got one nail a bit close, close enough that it was bleeding.

I got this out and used it and boy did it work great! It stopped the bleeding in seconds.

Later, the dog was licking the nail and it started bleeding again. Payback for he got blood all over my bedspread. Darn dog! LOL

So the moment I noticed it, I went for this container and in seconds... the bleeding stopped again.

I cleaned the paw up really well, pushed a touch more powder into the nail and that was that. He's not licked the nail since and there has been no more blood.

I hope I'll never need this again but if I do, I'm sure glad to have it on hand.

I bought this particular brand because it stated it was good for humans too... so I'm thinking I have this for the next time I cut myself shaving.

I'm not sure why I was surprised that this was a powder... but I was and it really did work great. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this because I occasionally nip the quick on my dogs. The cup design makes it easy to shove the bleeding claw into the powder so you don't have to try and pour it on while your dog is pulling because they're hurt. I hate that I need it sometimes but glad this is available.

I was familiar with stypic powder from my stent as an Army medic, so ordered this for my emergency medical pack. Used with cotton-tipped applicators (just dip one end into the powder and apply to the wound) it does the job on animals and humans. This product is not for use on large cuts or other wounds that are bleeding profusely...there are other (more expensive) products for that, but for minor cuts and scrapes, this is what you want.

works quick when I cut too close to my doggies nails. The bleeding stop instantly when I dipped their nail into the jar. Recommend to everyone and very easy to use.

I've only had to use this once so far (phew) on one nail, but it works perfectly. Will last a long time.
