Pure Gold,

I have had this since it was on vinyl. My only complaint about it on vinyl was that whenever I would lend it to anybody, I would never get it back. I wound up buying 5 copies of it on vinyl. I waited for years for it to appear in CD format. There is not a second of filler on this disc. All the songs are superior. The soloists are of the highest caliber in Salsa or any other form of music for that matter. Quintana and Rodriguez add excellent vocals on their respective tracks. Find it, but it, love it, thank me later.

This is one of the best examples of true Salsa I have ever heard. You can dance to it(Un Puesto Vacante, Adoracion, etc. just to name a couple) or groove to the deep lyrics of the boleros(Deseo Salvaje, No Pienses Asi). You will not be disappointed in this album. It is money VERY well spent. Enjoy!!!!!

This is the album that no one should miss out on. Because of it's raw style and flowing vocals, I would call this the best album of the decade. There is no CD like it

Eddie Palmieri's best from his 1973-76 Coco albums.,

After the release of his 1972 bestseller "Vamonos Pa'l Monte", Eddie Palmieri left Tico Records and signed with Harvey Averne's Coco Records label and entered what many regard as the most prolific period of his career. This compilation focuses primarily on his big 1973-1976 Coco hits from the albums "Sentido", "The Sun Of Latin Music" and "Unfinished Masterpiece". What makes this compilation worthwhile is that all ten tracks' original full-length LP versions are featured (as opposed to the single edits) and the sound quality is amazingly great (at least on the MP {Musical Productions} Records CD from 1991, which I have!). All-time classics like "Nada De Ti", "Nunca Contigo", "Puerto Rico", "Adoracion", "Un Dia Bonito" and "Deseo Salvaje" make this CD a must-have for your Salsa collection. Eddie Palmieri's impassioned and at times psychidelical Piano playing coupled with a DEVASTATINGLY hard-swinging band AND the peerless vocals of Ismael Quintana and Lalo Rodriguez lead up to a combination made in Salsa Heaven. Enjoy!

This set would get five stars if only the sound would be better. That said, all the hits are here. Songs like "Puerto Rico" and "Nada de Ti" are classics from Palmieri"s 70's discography on Coco records. The vocalists are Ismael Quintana and Lalo Rodriguez. Band members are Barry Rogers, Nicky Marrero, Alfredo de la Fe and other great session musicians. This is a "must-buy" cd.

This one's a winner, what an excellent album. Fiery, soulful and energetic salsa from start to finish. Highly recommended.
