About the Actor

Dr. Brett Ferdinand was awarded numerous scholarships en route to graduating with honors in a B.Sc. program. More than ten years ago, confident that he would one day be a doctor fulfilled his passion for teaching by creating The Medical School Preparatory Course (MSPC), which has become a perennial lecture series through MCAT-prep.com. The course was the first to teach both the MCAT and the details of the admissions process. After excelling at the MCAT, Dr. Brett Ferdinand was accepted by all the medical schools to which he applied. During medical school he continued to teach and then completed: The Gold Standard MCAT text. The book received distribution throughout North America and instantly became one of the best selling MCAT manuals. Today, Dr. Brett Ferdinand is a surgeon and continues to be known as a dynamic lecturer on the admissions process and on the basic sciences for the MCAT. He is well known for making difficult concepts easy to understand. Over the years, he has lectured to thousands of pre-medical students and reached thousands more through his books, teaching DVDs and through online interactive programs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Preparing for the MCAT exam December 24, 2005
By Tigsley
Format:CD-ROM
The presentations focus directly on core material being tested on the MCAT exam, so it trims alot away that I don't need to focus on if I were just using my college course textbooks to review. I like going directly to the particular topic I'm working on within my study plan, and this tool allows that type of easy access to review core concepts. It's also nice to take the reviews with me, so I can study in blocks of time that fit my schedule - whether it's at the library, home, etc. Just started downloading the files for a specific topic onto my memory stick as needed so I hardly even access a disc except at home, just need a computer with a USB port to study the MCAT review at the library!

5.0 out of 5 stars Raised my physics score! August 11, 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
The videos are extremely helpful. I used them before, during, and know after my Kaplan class while I continue to study for my pending MCAT. If I need clarification, it's like having the teacher right there to explain the concept. The customer service is excellent. I accidentally received a duplicate in the order and it was corrected promptly. These guys are great, I'm going to owe Dr. Ferdinand a beer by the time this is done!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Basic Review January 24, 2006
Format:CD-ROM
The review is very basic. The material is presented in a clear fashion. I bought them but did not use them. The price has dropped since I bought it. If you like watching things over video, this is for you. It is better than the classes, I think, since it teaches the material covered unlike the classes, which teaches only some of the material covered (they expect you to learn the majority of it or review the majority of it from books they give you) and the other half to three quarters is guided practice. So, I'd recommend this over the courses.
