Definitely 5-star material, performances, and sound quality, but this is a complete clone of the recent "My Girl : The Best of..." anthology. It all comes down to packaging, and therefore the nod goes to "My Girl" for its ample track-by-track notes and commentary by original Tempt Otis Williams.

Most audiophiles are aware that Motown has mostly a mess for original tapes. There are also many monoaural tracks peddled on too many 'greatest hits' compilations. More to the point: this is the best Temptations CD I have heard -- better than Compact Command Performance.

It sounds as thought some tracks are the 'electronically rechanneled for stereo listening" versions. But, hey, ... what are you gonna do? You want Temps or not?

It also seems through my old Sony V900 headphones that they went too heavy on the bass. If you have Cooledit, or something similar, you may wish to use it on these tracks.

All considered, I can tell you I was in high school when Cloud Nine came out, and I am really enjoying listening to all of these cuts!

This is the one to get, alright.

This is wonderful 2 disc set from the temptations. With 36 tracks spread over 2 Cd this covers a large sampling of their music. Diana Ross and the Supremes make an appearance on the 1st disc on track 17 singing I'm gonna make you love me. Rick James on disc 2 in Standing on the top. The liner notes are great full color including the photos over the years. One thing I find some what impressive is the music has a clean sound no noise due to age of the tracks.

I love the Temps, one of my favorites groups. So I was really happy to see a "Gold" Temp cd, thinking it would have all my faves on it. It does, but really does not need the second cd. I really only play the first cd as the second has only non-memorable Temps. Also, I wish they played the full album length versions. Cloud 9 and Runaway Child are much longer in the album versions and are two of my favorites. I like the David Ruffin years but I prefer the Dennis Edwards years.

If you are a fan of The Temptations and old school music this ones for you. Every hit from the past to the new is here. A great buy for the money.

I didn't realize the Temptations had so many hits I recognized. If you like the Temptations music this is a great CD

The Temptations were an awesome Motown act! They have inspired many boy bands including the Jackson 5. With sweet and sexy five part harmonies to their smooth and effortless dance steps, The Temptations reign supreme. I love the double cd! It is a must if you love good music and actual talent.

i enjoyed listening to thids cd very much- the songs brought back memories of my youth and the various soul group who sang during this era.

If you are down or feel you've got "a hole in your soul", this CD is the remedy.
