5.0 out of 5 stars Gold Toe Socks- The Best
For decades I have been unable to find even a close substitute for the finest socks I have ever worn. Gold toe short, woolen "Canterbury Dress Socks" are not to be matched. I love the feel and comfort, durability, fit and looks of these fine mens socks and wear nothing but them other than tennis socks for sports. 2.0 out of 5 stars Gold Toe is destroying a premium brand - quality is an issue
I bought a dozen black dress socks made in china and after 5 washes a hole appears in seam. Feel and fit are as expected.

I am long time customer who bought GoldToe socks exclusively a dozen at a time. Why they are destroying their brand with inferior quality products made in china or without proper quality controls? I never had a issue paying a premium...

I have tried numerous other brands but only to find that I have been penny wise and pound foolish in the attempt. I am committed to Gold Toe Canterbury's for the rest of my life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thick, but not too warm, January 13, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These socks are great. I cannot find them in stores anymore. They are the right thickness for me. My feet sweat easily and if a sock is too thin, there isn't enough room for my feet to breathe inside my shoes and they sweat. Contrastingly, if a sock is too thick, they tend to be overly warm and uncomfortable as well. These socks strike the perfect balance between thickness and warmth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Socks, February 2, 2007
These socks are a bit on the thin side, but they withstand a lot of wear!

2.0 out of 5 stars Gold Toe is destroying a premium brand - quality is an issue, September 16, 2011
This review is from: Gold Toe Men's Canterbury Dress Sock, 3-Pack (Apparel)
I bought a dozen black dress socks made in china and after 5 washes a hole appears in seam. Feel and fit are as expected.

I am long time customer who bought GoldToe socks exclusively a dozen at a time. Why they are destroying their brand with inferior quality products made in china or without proper quality controls? I never had a issue paying a premium price for what WAS a premium product. Quality does matter.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed., May 16, 2011

I saw so many good reviews and I expected much more. I bought two packs and of the twelve socks, one had a hole in them when they were shipped. I didn't worry about it and just used the others. The socks have been through the wash approximately 5-7 times. Of the remaining eleven socks, I noticed that two of them had the elastic strings coming through and one has a hole.

I gave them two stars because they are not holding up, but, they are comfortable. A lot of my family members swear by gold toe socks, but, when I tried them, I expected them to last much longer than this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Quality, July 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've had these socks for a month and already holes are starting to develop. I don't know if I got a bad batch, or if Amazon just shipped the cheapest ones they could find for Father's Day.

1.0 out of 5 stars Quality no longer there, March 16, 2011

I have been wearing gold toe socks for about 15 years now, but as other folks have pointed out, they don't seem to last long at all anymore. They don't seem to get holes, but the heal wears away pretty quickly (I just use them for work, no running or anything and nothing different from my older Gold Toes) I did notice that with this last set of socks I bought that they are no longer being make in the USA. I think they may have changed up the material being used at the same time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what they used to be, January 30, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gold Toe Men's Canterbury Dress Sock, 3-Pack (Apparel)
I've been buying Gold Toe socks for years and finally had some that needed to replaced. I bought a package of these and am disappointed. They don't feel like they used to, they aren't as comfortable and they look to be of lesser quality. I can definitely tell the difference between these new ones and the old ones I still have around. I went to a local store to make sure it wasn't just these and the ones they have appear to be the same. They still fit well which is why they didn't get 1 star, but they're definitely not top notch nor worth the price. I'm now looking for a new brand, a bit sad about that.

After a couple of years the heels are falling apart and away from the body of the sock, for some strange reason. Unbelievable for these high prices.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Recommend these Dress Socks, December 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
They are a nice dark chocolate color and last long without tearing. They are mostly cotton so my feet don't sweat; however, since they have less rayon and polyester than other dress socks, they don't feel as soft and don't stretch as much.

Altogether, I recommend these dress socks.
