Gold Filter for 1 Cup of Tea or Coffee
I can't comment on the use of this filter as a replacement in a coffeemaker, because I bought it to replace another gold filter I use to steep a single cup of tea or coffee. This one fit my cup perfectly, and even better than the one I had before. I haven't steeped coffee in it yet, so I don't know if fine particles pass through, but loose tea has not shown...

Very disappointing.
I usually use unbleached paper filters, but I thought I would get this cone for ease of use and to maybe "save a tree". The filter let's every dusty little particle through, and there is a layer of mud and sediment t at the bottom of each mug you pour. Never a smooth sip. For this price I could have bought 2 years worth of paper filters.

This one fit my cup perfectly, and even better than the one I had before. I haven't steeped coffee in it yet, so I don't know if fine particles pass through, but loose tea has not shown up in the infusion. That was the first sign that it was time to buy this one!) The base is flat and ovoid, and I measure it at 3/8" wide and 2-1/4" long. The filter will stand on its own, although probably not if it's full of grounds or leaves. It has a semicircular handle which folds along the inside of the filter. The other dimensions described are accurate. |
