This rolled fondant is smooth and pliable and ready to roll and shape. It covers cakes with a perfectly smooth iced surface and is also easy to shape into beautiful borders, flowers, leaves, and other decorations. Made with gum tragacanth for optimum moulding qualities, the fondant can also be extruded through pasta forming equipment. The addition of chocolate stabilizes the fondant enabling the fondant-covered cake to be refrigerated. Chocolate flavour.

I got into cake decorating when I saw Michael's offered classes. I used only wilton product's even though not all of them were good, like their fondant. I thought all fondant was gross till someone recommended Satin Ice. And I'm glad they did! The chocolate fondant is so good!! It smells like fudge and it has a very chocolaty taste with no terrible after taste. It is very easy to work with but it is sticky so you have to use a lot of cornstarch/powdered sugar to make sure it doesn't stick to my work surface. Also I have to put cornstarch on the back when I let cut pieces dry because it sticks a lot to wax paper. This doesn't really dry hard, it stays soft. Unless you let it sit for weeks and weeks. Also if you want black fondant without using lots of dye, using this chocolate fondant first makes great black fondant with less dye and mess.

Purchased this chocolate fondant a year ago for a cake that I didn't want to color so much brown fondant for. I had a tub of it left over and was asked to make a cowboy boot cake. I pulled it out thinking it would be moldy and disgusting but it still tasted good and the color was still the same. I used it and everyone loved it. Couldn't believe it was still soft. I kept it in a cool room sealed properly and it held up great! Regular fondant dries out after only a few weeks- month of being opened.
