5.0 out of 5 stars More Wonderful Nostalgia, February 22, 2011
This review is from: The Golden Age of Light Music: The 1940s (Audio CD)
Here is another wonderful compilation from Mr. David Ades at Guildmusic.com. As with the entire series of Light Music, Mr. Ades has gathered together some of the most beloved and mellifluous music from the first half of the twentieth century. The music ( no vocals) is performed by the world's most distinguished orchestras at the top of their form ( Morton Gould, Louis Levy, David Rose..) This disc also has a track of the beloved music used in the Noir Film, "Laura" with Gene Tierney which never fails to mezmerize. This is marvelous music. Amazon needs to provide more listening samples. If you wish to hear the music before you buy, you can visit the website, Guildmusic.com under "Light music" and there, samples are provided for all CDs.
