Guild Light Music series,
By
This review is from: The Golden Age of Light Music: The Hall of Fame, Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
The album is one of many on the Guild Music label devoted to light music that is over 50 years old.The compilations by Robert Farnon Society official David Ades and re-mastering by Alan Bunting is first class, and this series is gaining more and more devotees with each release. I must, however, point out a track-labelling error on Amazon's track listing. The version of "London Fantasia" on this disc is performed by the Columbia Light Orchestra conducted by Charles Williams. The Queen's Hall Light Orchestra has never recorded this piece, although there are versions by Sidney Torch and his Orchestra and Mantovani and his Orchestra.
