I've read a number of Claire Thompson's softer BDSM romances. This is the first non-consensual abduction story of hers I've read. Laura Sidel, an innocent (not so innocent, works in a strip club) is abducted and taken for slave training, so she can be sold to the highest bidder in a secret society of wealthy sex maniacs.

It was kind of scary and heart wrenching reading the torture stuff, but it was also sexy as hell and beautifully written. I was in there cheering for her and screaming, No! No! And the sexual stuff was so sizzling I had to, um, take a cold shower!!

The BDSM stuff was super hot, if you are into the whole kidnapped and sexually tortured fantasy, which I am. Ms. Thompson always writes real scenes, that make you feel like you are right there with them. I love that about her work.

I liked the ending too, which I won't give away, except to say our heroine emerges from this harrowing ordeal with flying colors! I'm off now to find more of her non-consensuals. Great stuff!!!

I was baffled by the reviewer who hated it because it wasn't a romance! Whoever said it was - at least not until the end, that is. This is the kind of book you feel guilty for loving - dirty, dangerous, sexy as all get out. Well written, too, an added plus. An actual plot! And obviously the author knows her stuff. I felt like I was there. If you like dark, sensual BDSM, this is definitely the book for you!

Hot, dangerous, sexy. I couldn't put this book down. If you like adventure soaked in BDSM but still want a PLOT, this is the story for you. Laura is smart, sexy and caught in situations she can't control. I loved watching her develop as a woman as she underwent her trials and tribulations. The ending is very satisfying too, with the bad guys getting theirs and the good girls getting just what they need! Loved it!

Author Thompson writes hot erotic novels, but she can also introduce elements of pain and violence. Therefore, be warned: if you're of tender heart and sickened by sadistic behavior, even if imaginary, stay away from Golden Angel.
As for me, I thought the rough parts over-done, but enjoyed the other parts. All in all, it was an interesting story. Also, Thompson may offer scenes of use for those interested in writing fiction. In the end, to each his (her) own.

For an erotica book I expected more sex, and less romance. TRYING not spoil, the feeling I get is that midway down the book the author deided she did not like BDSM and wanted a fairy tale, so the soty spins and makes it all look nice and pretty, and the sex seems to disappear.
Ok, there weren't that many to begin with, but still I read to the end, hoping to get that one good scene to come up, but it never did!

If you want a hot book, this is it! From the opening page you can not put this book down and you will feel the heat from head to toe. Very interesting story line and I love the way this author writes utilizing every erotic twist possible. This book is designed to take you to another level. Five star +. Buy it.

Great twist, page turner. I enjoyed the different levels of training added with all new characters. Another great read by this author.

this book was amazing very grafic and descriptive of control and sexual deprivation th e mind control it exsibits is a mazing as they brain wash her. everything about this book was amazing if you love degredation and sexual control over a female. Just hated the end with out a spioler it is just one hundred percent diffrent from the rest of the book but would and will read it sevral more times

So, Lara is kidnapped at a photography studio - the minute she agreed to go to this man's studio, I decided she deserved what was coming to her. Seriously??? In this day and age adult women are still taken in by the fake fashion photographers, etc. etc. Ooops, I digress.

Our gal is now sent to a location to be trained as a slave. For those into the non-consent aspect of stories, this part if good. There isn't a lot of sex, just mostly slave training (beating, etc.)and a lot of it.

The twist comes when she is sold and given to a handsome, honorable man as a gift from mommy. This is where the author decided to change from bdsm to romance. The two fall in love, mommy is punished for her sins and they live happily ever after.

I don't get it.

Interesting BDSM story. The heroine and hero are well drawn, as are the villains except for the compulsory wicked mother, who is not entirely convincing. The plot is decent and the story well written with some good touches. Overall a likable BDSM erotic novel; although no a heavy hitter[...]the entire series is excellent.
